R56 MINIs per geographical region-an observation
MINIs per geographical region-an observation
First off, I just want to say I know I am on the numbers OCD side. I like to count.
I recently spent six days in Atlanta and its northern "inside the beltway" environs. During that six day period, I counted 12 Coopers, 2 Clubman and 1 Countryman on the roads.
Today I had to drive from the Olympia, WA area to Seattle MINI (about a 54 mile drive one way). I was gone five hours. During that time, I counted 20 Coopers, 1 Clubman and no Countryman on the roads.
I know this observation doesn't mean a thing other than confirming my thoughts that I sure do see a lot of happy MINI owners around Puget Sound.
I'm flying to the Dallas-Fort Worth area for 10 days on Friday. I'll count MINIs there also.

I would bet a million bucks that the highest concentration of Minis is in this area (San Francisco Bay Area.) They're everywhere. If I had to wave to every Mini driver, I'd never have two hands on the wheel. :D
I was wondering if people waved since the market was so saturated. I'll wave to you! (picking up car tom'w)

Does anyone know the data on which area has the most MINIs per capita?
I was surprised that I saw so few in Atlanta.
I still wave around Puget Sound- I do a peace sign wave
Lots of drivers seems surprised and then smile and wave right back. It's fun.

I wouldn't put money on numbers, but here in Venice Beach, CA, we have 6 MINIs in our neighborhood. My S; my wife's Cabrio; our neighbor's S, a Countryman around the corner, an S down the street, and a Clubman around another corner.
If the MINIs and Prius's were to disappear overnight, I think half the cars in our area would be gone.
And, no, most don't wave back, but i won't give up trying...

Well, I know the DC Metro area alone has 4 dealerships within a short distance of each other: Sterling, Alexandria, Towson and Annapolis. I do see a lot on the roads, and the close proximity of the dealers leads me to believe that they get eaten up enough for BMW/MINI to be able to profit from the demand.
Was just going to mention that. I live in Miami and I see minis everywhere I look. I also see a ton of them in San Diego.
I found it interesting that I see more minis than I see honda fits.
I wouldn’t be surprised that the state of Arkansas has the lowest population. I drove completely across that state twice a couple of weeks ago, and encountered one MINI, other than mine. Which sucks because they have some of the sickest roads I have ever driven on.
This is not the time or place for opinions on why there are so many BMWs in So California
MINI dealers seem to be concentrated around large SMAs, so many MINIs might reside around those areas too. Looking at the miniusa dealer map, the broader LA area seems to have 9 dealers, the NYC area has 7, and the Chicago, DC/Baltimore, Miami, and San Francisco areas each have 5 dealers.
In some parts of ND, SD, Montana, and Wyoming, MINIs are sometimes reported as UFOs.

I live in a "smedium" sized town and MINI's are fairly rare. If any, just the old generation, definitely no Countrymans or JCW's in this town. But Indianapolis seems to have quite a few. But I like being a lonely MINI. That means more looks and uniqueness for me. I put the MINI in a local car show. About 300+ cars in it and I WON for best car with owner under 25 years of age =]
