R56 Whatzit?

If you've never pulled the rear seat of your R56, try and figure out what this cable is hiding underneath it. Don't bother looking in the owner's manual. I know now and for a small fee I'll let you know, LOL.

Its the rear tailgate release


And if you look in the cubby hole where the petrol flap is you will see one for the flap

I thought that was a fuel cut off cord. In case you try to kid nap someone.

I just pulled up my rear seat delete to double check, I don't have that cord!

i don't remember the exact week but they stopped putting those in late '08 or thereabouts

Yup its the rear hatch manual release. They started putting them in sometime in 04.

I know other bigger cars have it with a glow in the dark handle incase someone gets locked in the trunk/boot.
lol yeah like we can fit a person in the back of ours.
