Is Gen2 headlights and Gen1 headlights are the sames?

I found many projector headlights on Ebay for Gen 1 but none for Gen2 even those Gen 2 has been 4 years old model.
On some website, I saw they put the link to Gen 2 headlights the same as Gen 1 picture so not sure if they are the same.
Thanks,
-Mike

Gen1 used sep' bulbs for high and low beam (both H7, talking non-xenon of course altho even those still use H7 for high/main beam)

Gen2 uses a combined hi/lo bulb (again, talking non-x)

so I doubt 1 fixture could replace both without some other mods at the connectors....

The rewire is not an issue to me but I was worry about the fitment.
If they fit, then it would be fine.
Can anyone please confirm again that the housing would be the same?
Thanks,
-Mike

short of checking real oem for a part number change which seems likely

what you really want is someone who tried it huh?

Haha, not really ... since it's been 4 years so just want to double check to make sure I buy a set and they will fit. They are $300 but $300 is still $300. Don't want to buy them and cannot use it.
Thanks,
-Mike

Between the R53 and the R56 the part number has changed five times....

I'm 99% sure they will not work. Sorry bud.

They are a different shape and size. I've seen 2nd gen headlights pop up on ebay now and again for around $80-$100 a piece.

They are COMPLETELY different. Gen 1 mounts on the hood while Gen 2 do not. Wiring, bulbs, ballasts, ignitors ALL different and not interchangeable.
Same with Non Xenon... even the bulbs are not interchangeable
