What did you do to your R56 today?

Hello everyone! For the past 5-6 years I've been driving BMWs while working at a dealership that also caters to MINIs. I'll be honest, I've always had an eye for these go-carts but never pulled the trigger.

Over the years I've became active on many BMW forums. This type of thread was always a favorite of mine because if anything, it got me motivated to do something to my car. I'm sorry if this has been done before, I searched, and didn't come up with anything.

Soooo here we are- just picked up my 10 MCS on 08/27.

Today--

Washed the car, got floormats and a boot mat, picked up some Black Wow, and also picked up that small rubber inlay mat. PN- 51 16 0 418 650
Picked up a V1.(it's too easy to be going over and not know it!)
Ordered an Alta Intake. (couldn't pass up their low price + 10% coupon)
Ordered a JCW exhaust.
Scheduled tint next week.

Car has 300 miles on it... The mod bug has reared it's ugly head pretty quickly on this car.

Now, your turn-- What did you do to your R56 today?

What did you do to your R56 today?

I just got myself a new set of Yokohama's S-Drives 215-45-R17 to replace my run-flats, wow, what a difference! The complete "feel" of the car changed for the best. My MCS is an 2008 and this was my first change of tires. My Dunlop's were done after 24,000 miles.
So that's what I did to my Mini today and I'm feeling damn good!!

Steve...

That looks fantastic! Job well done .

My JCW black out grill surrounds came in today, I'll be installing them on lunch break. That and a much needed car wash.

Just take your time, ive done it to all vehicles and when i had my wrx used to do it for others for a little $. If you use patience and sand everything right and apply the paint right it will look factory. I used 600 grit to even both textures and then primed it with light coats so it dried as a rough texture, then equally did 4 light coats of acrylic black.

I will just like to add that we are a lucky group of people who has had the pleasure of owning a Mini and realize the "special" car that it is. I'm 50 and I've had my share of vehicles in my lifetime and right now my MCS is the best car I've owned.
So to all you guys out there, do something "nice" to your Mini today...
Best wishes to all of you!!
Steve...

Okay today:

Washed the car, put the black out grill surrounds on, and deleted the resonator.

I know these shots are horrible but they were taking off my video camera. Black out the chrome head light and tail light trim for tomorrow.

Cheers!

I opened the door to the garage and made sure it was still there ... LOL. My car is a garage queen. I've owned it over a month and it hasn't broken 300 miles.

It was just a simple cut and weld in a new pipe, took about 45 min.

Sounds a little different in the lower RPMs but up higher it sounds about the same. No power gain from what I can tell what-so-ever.

Installed the Alta intake today. Too late for me to upload pictures and videos right now but will be able to in coming days.

Right now I'm addicted to the sound and can feel a slight increase in the butt dyno. If my buddy comes back into town for the weekend I'll be able to test that theory on a real dyno.

Keep em coming guys. I know there is a general thread like this but it is kind of nice to have a R56 specific thread IMO. Then again it's just giving me more ideas
