R56 In the mail today, Extended Warranty for HPFP
I'm taking my 07 MCS in tomorrow to get looked at. Some mornings if I just start up and pull out it has a little bit of a hard time and sounds like it might stall. I also notice that in the last few days sitting longer than normal at a stop light the RPM gauge drops from 800-900 to around 300 RPMs and sounds like its about to stall. I called and explained the issues to my dealer and they set me up to bring it in tomorrow, hopefully they can't get around fixing something because I'm um,"lightly" modified, haha.
The HPFP was 70% of the reason why I didn't order a 2011 "S." I do too many longer trips to risk getting stranded in the middle of nowhere in limp mode, even if that risk is under 5%.
(The other 30% is comprised of: 20% spare tire, 10% marginally better fuel economy).

Extended warranty on hpfp???
I have 2008 turbo. I did not receive the letter about extending the warranty on hpfp, or maybe it was somehow thrown out with junk mail. My car has the reported symptoms of a bad hpfp. The letter from Mini you posted says 2007 through 2009 have extended warranty. I called the dealer and the service adviser told me my car didn't apply after looking up my vin. What's the deal?

MINI USA has become aware of a potential problem that could affect the durability of the high-pressure fuel pumps in select 2007,2008, and 2009 model year MINI vehicles equipped with the N14 turbocharged engines.
Honestly, I don't know the answer, but I would call the number on the notice and ask them.
Should you have any questions, please call us at (866)ASK-MINI (275-6464).
Now if you have a 2008 convertible, you don't have a turbo but a supercharged engine and that would not be covered.
Good Luck and let us know your outcome.

Here is a copy of the letter. It is for the N14 motor. Not sure what model you have.
Good luck

Thanks for the info!
I confirmed with Mini that my 2008 Mini Cooper S is included in the extended warranty for the hpfp. I guess the service adviser misunderstood me somehow. Maybe he is new on the job? I've got an appointment on Monday. Car is not starting properly and once started it idles rough. On top of that the engine has overheated (red temp light) three times. I just had the thermostat housing replaced a few weeks ago. Car is losing coolant, bit by bit. I don't see any leaks (drip spots) under the car, even over night. I'm keeping it topped off. Very slow leak somewhere?? I don't think it has a blown head gasket because the oil looks good and no smoke out tailpipe. Maybe a bad hose somewhere? I hope they didn't cut a hose by accident when replacing thermostat. I had my car only about a week before it overheated again!I hope its not the water pump.
By the way, along with the thermostat service, I had the auxiliary water pump and turbo oil supply line replaced. I used JB Weld (epoxy) as a temporary fix. I wasn't sure if it could withstand the temps, but it held up. No leaks. If you're in a pinch, JB Weld the oil supply line to stop the leak.

Glad to hear their going to cover it for you!
Sorry to hear about the coolant leak problems, not sure what to tell you about that except to make sure the dealer is well aware that you're not happy.

Do you happen to have a copy? I have the same build date, and they won't cover mine.
