Im pumped! I just ordered a 2010 Cooper S! Specs are below. The motoring will commence in 6 weeks or so i guess. I hope I can sleep at night for the next 6 weeks, definitely not tonight

The dealer said they would send me my control number for tracking it later today! Its gonna be a long wait

Oh and they gave me about $1000 off MSRP. With dealer fees I was a few hundred over the MSRP with all my options and floor mats. Pretty decent I would say!

Got my production number! It looks like I got to steal one of their already allocated production spots, the car is showing right now as a Blue Cooper S with some random options.

How long before that changes typically?

 

I know what you mean about the wait. You are lucky to only have to wait 6 weeks. I put my order in on 30 Apr and my delivery date is 9 Jul, and I'm in Germany..... guess I have time to plan upgrades. Congrats on the order.

Took about a week to update the Owners Lounge. Also you're lucky, took me 12 weeks to get mine, I got delayed at the shipper, waited about a week to get out of Southampton, then my car had to go through Panama. Right now my car has been to more places than I have.

If you think sleeping the day you ordered is hard, wait until the night before delivery. It's like you're 5 years old and it's fricken Christmas Eve. You want to get to bed early so you're up earlier, but at the same time you're so wired it's all you can think about and of course it's hard to sleep.

Picked up my MINI 8 days ago now, and haven't even filled it with fuel yet, my co-workers are freakin' out over that little tidbit.

 

I am so jealous of you guys. I intended to get a new one, but I can't right now. Someday....

I was actually looking at used 1 series BMWs. But I have always wanted to order a car with my specs and get it. So for less than the price of a used 135i I could order and get my MCS. After I drove one, I was sorry I even considered the 1 series.

I'm excited for you too! Dark Silver is GORGEOUS and it is going to be discontinued! (My dealer told me it is being replaced with a less metallic grey similar to Gotham Grey)

I love your rims too! I have flame spokes... my kids tell me they remind them of a Pokémon named Magneton. hahahaha ( I like them a little less now...) Your rims are MUCH better but they didn't come with the sport package in Canada.

 

Congrats! Prior to ordering my first MINI I'd never even dreamed of memorizing a VIN. I'm lucky I wasn't fired for chatting and tracking - tracking and posting updates. The wait is worth it - and the smile lines permanent.

 

I thought about the flame spokes, but I love the 2 piece style of the web spokes. They cost an extra $500 in the sports package here but I think they are well worth it! Plus i plan to keep the car for a very long time so I wanted to get exactly what I wanted, nothing more, nothing less.

Come on MINI, I need a production date

 

Called this afternoon and the told me I had an unofficial production date of 5/20, so in like 9 days. How close are these unofficial dates usually?

 

Im sure its pretty close. Its the stupid boat ride, then the "oh, its been at the recieving port for a few days" lol
