Hey everybody, what are the differences between the early and late 2007 MY MINI Cooper's?? I see it referenced a lot.

 

Steering wheel I think is one of them cause everytime I looked for MFSW controls they showed me this gawd afful steering wheel.

 

The tune. BMW neutered the MCS tune a bit to put more distance between it and the JCW. I thought that started in '08, but it could have been late '07.

 

In mid 07 the TPMS changed from the wheel speed system of the GEN1's to the wheel sensor type system. Easiest way to tell is the valve stems which if not changed on a car that has the later, say so on the stem covers. My build date was Aug 7 - 07 and when the truck arrived there were cars on the truck with both systems suggesting this was right at the time of the changeover.

Also for a time in 07 there was a problem with the woodgrain MFSW. Even tho you'd order English Oak they were not sending the wood grain MFSW - or so I remember reading here. When I got mine it did come with the woodgrain MFSW and I understand earlier owners had some luck getting it retrofitted when they asked.
