I was thinking of starting a database of everyones R56 and their firmware..
so that we can gather some info and intel as bmw/mini slowly castrates and robs our cars of power..

to get ur version info..

press and hold the right button on the tach for about 7-10secs while the key is on but car is not running...

then cycle thru the menu with the same button till u reach SW

should look like this:


i'll start with mine as an example:

I'll post mine later today - 8c is probably hexidecimal (base 16) and translates to the number 140 in decimal (base 10). That's my guess anyway.

Cooper S and Justa-cooper seem to have the same software

and the American spec cars say BRAKE instead of the logo for handbrake...

I read on NAM that the 07 MCS were the fastest batch of Minis before the ECU reflash. Does anyone know what firmware they used? My Mini says SW 73.51.00

Dealer update: Not sure. All service tags show "standard scope" (whatever that means)
Software: 78.50.00
Boost: Not sure. Scangauge boost reports up to 15-16 psi max. May not be accurate depending on the current atmospheric pressure.
