my wife is religious about this but very few ever wave and she gets upset about it.

She even went so far as to get a personalized plate that says "Miniwave"

My mini experience has left me bitter that every time I see one I want to give the thumbs down.

Here in greater Los Angeles I would have to choose between waving or shifting. So many MINIs. They're everywhere. If I drive two miles to coffee I'll pass at least ten. And I'm not exaggerating.

First wave!

Received my first wave from another MINI -- and waved back, of course. So this is Miniland! Fun. (I've had my BRG Clubman for five days now -- love it.)

Yes, but most people don't wave back. I find that people who recently purchased their Mini's are more likely than those that have had it for a few years.

I had a 1975 Beatle and that community always waves. The motorcycle community tends to do it as we'll, but more in the country than around the city.

Funny ... My wife makes fun of me for waving, but she's not the Mini owner. I live on Ohio, so fewer minis and my wave back percentage is better - maybe 1 out of 3 - but I wish it was 100%.

I've started to mix things up lately: wave out the window, high beam flash, and the occasional horn honk. Fun times!

Yes. I've found that they actually tend to be initiating the waves too.

People out here in New Mexico get very confused when I wave/honk/flash my lights. The other MINI drivers here are clueless to MINI culture.... :(

My 16 yr old daughter just got a 2009 hardtop and was so excited about "the wave". She loves it , her dad was driving last week and a MINI drove by and waved and he didn't wave back. She was horrified. I am picking up a new Countryman this weekend and I really hope I get a wave too. It makes me smile

I took a different route home today - 3 out of 4 MINIS returned a wave! That's rare for around here.

Wish it happened here in SF (and the bay area). We have SO many MINIs. Within my apartment building block, I can probably spot at least a couple of them parked excluding mine, a few passing by every few minutes. In my 25 mile commute, I'll probably see a dozen or more everyday. Maybe If I take her out for pleasure rides in weekends, there could be mini people waving.

I do scan what others done to their minis tho. Many are stock, but it's nice to see some tastefully modified ones once in a while.

I have owned a mini for 3 days.

I've come across eight mini's so far.

And so I waved.

And so, I was ignored. by all 8.

And so, I will never wave again.

And so, from here on out, subsequent mini's will receive the middle finger.

Let's see them ignore that one

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

(totally kidding.)

(no but seriously, I'll only wave back. I'm not initiating it anymore)

I wave like a loon to every MINI of any variety, and get a wave about 3/4 of the time. Who knows, maybe they're also cynical about the loss of the MINI wave, or perhaps they've never been waved at - I'll just wave until they get the idea

I also go out of my way to park next to other MINIs (or in some way adjacent to them):

you should park in the same parking spot as one and take a picture. That'd be funny. Both would fit too lol!

they would definitely both fit in the spaces at the local hardware store (where they're are all made to comfortably fit F-250's and Suburbans).

Thinking about printing up some little cards to leave on MINIs I park next to:
"From one MINI driver to another: Nice MINI! Don't forget to wave!"

haha nice, you should start some sort of game of 'tag'. Slip that card in someone's windshield...bam, they have to find another mini to 'tag'.

That's a brilliant idea! I like to park near other Mini's too.

Very cool. Someone should make some magnetic stickers with that on it . I would get one. I mentioned what your group is doing to our local mini dealer in hopes they would help promote the wave
