low brake power

I get the red brake icon and the triangular A icon (in yellow if i remember correctly) and the brakes on a hard push they didnt work so well, what might it be, low brake liquid? If so where is it located so i can refill it?
Of course i will take it tomorow to the mini mechanics!

How many miles on the pads? Could be it's warning you that they need to be replaced.

Or you could have gotten some air in the line. Have you pushed them particularly hard lately, like tracking, or maybe descending a long and steep mountain road? Overheating brakes can sometimes cause the brake fluid in or near the calipers to boil and leave gas bubbles in the fluid. This will make them feel spongy and certainly not provide the same stopping power.

If it's just air, they'd need to be bled, which is not that big a deal. But if the fluid was boiled, it should probably be flushed and replaced with fresh stuff.

i have 23.000km so far, it couldnt be the pads and for another reason, the brakes work well but there are some times they dont, i recon if it were the pads, they wouldn never work well, right?
