Stop pressing the volume button on the MFSW when you reverse.

When you are backing up, Park Distance Control starts to beep when you get close to an object. The closer you get, the faster it beeps. If you have the NAV, it would display a graphic showing where the object is.

Update!!! so ive had my car in 3 times for this prob and i was starting to think they thought i was nuts well my SO called me today and said wow your car radio went nuts on us today! YAY! im not crazy they said it was a glitch in the soft ware and they have fixed it and my AC had a leak in a hose leaking out freon so they fixed that too! YAY i can pick up my baby tomorrow!
its sad they gave me a clubman as a loner to see if i would like it more for the upcoming baby and yes its alot bigger and the 2 doors on one side would make a big difference but i Cant stand the way it looks! ill be sticking with my govner!

Glad they could reproduce the problem.

I also got a Clubman while my MCS Coupe was in for the cold-start rattle. I was surprised at how different it was to drive. It felt big car, to me.

I have a Clubman loaner right now, and it doesn't feel too different...until you turn. It feels far larger when you're actually in motion, the extra length in the wheelbase really changes the handling characteristics of the car.

I was surprised that it did. I'd heard that the Clubman was supposed to handle just like the Coupe. To me, that extra wheelbase seems to make a significant difference. First noticed while making a U-turn after leaving MINI of Mountain View.

Well, a U-Turn is a pretty big measure for a passenger car. So feeling a huge difference there isn't too surprising. Now if you take the clubby out to your favorite twisty, I don't think you would feel nearly as significant of change in that situation.

Maybe its just low speed cornering that it's so different, I didn't really try anything interesting with it, since it isn't my car.

Maybe I'm just bitter that my Mini is in the shop. Again. For the 5th time in 3 months. (At least I got a burgandy Clubman instead of that ridiculous mellow yellow Cooper they gave me last time...)

The drive home was over Hwy 17 through the Santa Cruz Mts. (lots of curves at 50-65 mph), and I live on a twisty country road with similar speeds.

It sounds odd, but a little can mean a lot in feel. Moving up 5cm on a pair of skis (only 2.5cm front and rear) changes how fast the handle drasticly.

Coming from an '07 MCS to an '08 Clubman S, I can say that the ride feels somehow more refined. The handling is just as responsive, but the acceleration is smoother and without the torque steer that I had on the little one. It might be some software updates in the year model.

I love the Clubbie. Now I just need to brighten up the colors. The Astro Black needs some help. Deciding on what stripes to put on it. I'm also waiting on some Wet Okole covers in red hibiscus to help with the all black interior.
