What is almost installed?

Greetings all

New to group took delivery from dealer stock 8-1-09 MC-S

Fantastic car!

Due to very limited stock of manual MC-S we settled with less than wanted options.

Upon calling dealer this morning to inquire about Sirius installation. They had to check with MINI to see what came with the car.

So my question is how do you find what options are almost installed.

In other words, the wiring harness is there, major modules are there, yet they are not activated etc......

Oh for the curious, the Sirius install runs $865, because my Mini was almost installed.

Joe

I know this is not what you asked but I also bought off the lot with fewer options than I wanted. I thought about getting them to install Sirius but balked at the cost.

I called up Sirius and they sent me a free radio with a years prepaid subscription. I spent 30 to 50 buck on a bracket and now I have Sirius with a $800 savings.

Yeah, I'd go tag's route. MINI charges way too much for that stuff.

the sirius upgrade is almost $1000 because of labor....

what i do is that i plug up my iPhone only to the AUX and then use the sirius on it.. however this mostly work without any hiccups or interruptions in 3G networks :S

Register your VIN here. Once your registered and logged in click the "track your MINI" link and take a look at "review order detail" for your installed options(or almost installed).

The Mini Owners lounge list factory options. Is there a way of knowing what options are needed for other options to be installed.

Example

Does having the Multifunction Steering wheel, mean that the wiring harness for Blue Tooth control is available? Just not active

I thought about the external Sirius but want to keep the integrity of the interior as much as possible.

I agree with the OL not being as informative as I had hoped. I have the Convience package... but do I have smartphone prep? How could I go about finding that out if I bought it used?

Very good point kidnaper, the primary use for this information would be in the used market.

I would assume that the wiring harness is the same throughout all cars. But you know what the say about assuming!

I read somewhere that the bus/trunk line is fiberoptic. Putting a new twist upgrading our Minis

Do you use FM modulation for you Sirrus radio or plug it in through the AUX plug?

I tried a FM modulator and the AUX plug. The AUX plug connection is much better.
