about to buy my wife a 07 mini -- what is it worth?

Hi Everyone,

I'm an ex-mini owner, sold my 2005 S a year ago. Now for my wife's birthday, I'm going to get her a mini! She fell in love with a sparkling silver Mini Cooper (non S), auto, premium, cold weather, 7000 miles. This is the car:

The 22750 asking price is of course is insane since the same car brand new from the configurator at miniusa comes up to 22700. I put a deposit, but did not agree on a price yet and can back out.

What is a fair price for this car given that it is from a dealer? Edmunds puts it at 19,000 and kbb at 21,000 which is quite a spread....

Thanks!!

I'd start at 70% of sticker and go from there. The car's almost 3 years old, low miles, but still. I assume the Edmunds est is dealer's price, not private sale, which is what I look at. $17k might be a good deal.

That works, and the price is WAY high! I'd say maybe 18k at MOST. Asking for 4 grand off the sticker price might be a little tough though.

I think most '07's are going for maybe 17k, 18k tops for a non-S from a dealer. Maybe $500 more if you get an extended warranty.
