Mellow Yellow Retiring

If you love Mellow Yellow and you haven't gotten your M.Y. MINI yet, you'd better hustle on down to the dealership and order it. It won't be around much longer.

I hope it isn't giving way to some horrible cream yellow.

I have unquotable sources.

I hope they don't make the interchange yellow the replacement!

Look for white silver to appear along with a new lounge leather and a new white leather/cloth combo.

IMO, Interchange Yellow is much more attractive than MY. MY has too much orange in it... looks like School Bus Yellow.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate on MY. Just not the best shade of yellow for a sporty car, IMO.

You MY owners should be glad. Will make your MINIs more rare !

Me... I have to work hard at making sure my CR and PW MINIs remain one of a kind.

Jet Black... pretty rare. And I like it that way. Although MINI was stupid for eliminating that great color.

...Well if the new solid Green for the JCW 50th is any indication as to new colors - we are going to be happy to see their colors evolve!

Well yet that might be good for us Mellow Yellow drivers. Because that can mean the price of our cars go up when we get rid of them (or if we do which i dont forever) lol because the color is not made any more.

Its on the main page of motoring file right now. Kinda really upset. I like the white silver but it shouldnt replace a yellow it should replace a silver. I just feel like all the vibrant mini colors are being done a way with. Idk what I will do when its time for me to order and MY is already gone maybe get the current blue..... even then its $500 more.

Lets all take a second out of our busy days to give a moment of silence to the passing of Mellow Yellow. You will be missed.

While I'll miss the Mellow Yellow, I am a fan of changing colors every 2-3 years to keep things fresh. As for current Mellow Yellow owners? Well, I'd think that many people would like to try a new color when they get a new car... I know that I sure do. Even if I buy the same make and model, I'd want to try a new color. I hope they continue to offer new and exciting colors and keep things interesting.

On a side note, I hope they introduce another "standard" color. They should always offer 3-4 no charge paints so that you have a few choices other than white or red without having to pay extra.

Agreed, they should offer several more non-metallic colors (notice all three of my MINIs are non-metallic).

They should bring back Jet Black and produce a non-metallic BRG, at a minimum.

What a shame. Four shades of silver and no yellow? Why don't they throw in Toyota Camry Beige while they're at it.

I could not find WHEN it will be discontinued. How late can I place an order still to get MY?

Sad news.

I've always wanted a yellow car, and when I first began thinking of ordering a MINI, I was dead set on Mellow Yellow. But when the time actually arrived, the Redwood Lounge forced me rethink the decision. And while I'm very happy with my MINI build, I always crack a smile whenever a MY motors by.

Here's hoping Mellow Yellow's exit brings the non-metallic BRG.

I can't say I'm all that surprised. MY seems to be pretty rare color. Why carry a color that no-one chooses? Here in SoCal, the popular colors seem to be black, red, and blue.

Funny thing is I still get people telling me how great my MY MCS looks. No-one orders the color, but plenty of people like it.

It said for 2010 cars so you based on last year some time in sept or oct will be the 2009/2010 switch. My car was allmost MY but I went with Hzb since I wanted a white roof and MY/Wht looks to sunflower for me.
