Bye bye MINI and hello to...

It was fun while it lasted but after a series of CEL issues and sensor replacements, MINIUSA finally decided to buy back my 07 MCSa.

My replacement.... a new 2009 Audi A4 Quattro. I know... it's a totally different car but its a good change. One day I'll go back to a MINI...

Farewell everyone! Happy Motoring!

Lucy

BTW I'll be selling my "no holes" plate holder, 2 new air filters, and a badge holder on the market soon.

I think if I move up to a bigger more luxury style car I'd go with an A4 over a 3 series BMW. It's good they bought back your car though. Was it a hassle to get that done?

I'm jealous. When I bought my MINI it was between a MINI and an A4. I love those cars.

How did you get MINI USA to buy back your car? I have had some serious problems with my mini and just want to know my options.

I was going back and forth on the A4 or 328 coupe too. But for the money and Quattro, I thought the A4 was more worth it.

It took some time but it helps to live in California and have my best friend practicing LEMON Law. I was coming in so often at my dealer that everyone knew who I was. My dealer was amazing and took care of me. However, my MINI was almost out of warranty and I didn't want to deal with the CEL issues. I'm returning the car next week and the CEL came back on 2 weeks ago. sigh*

I had my friend who practices Lemon Law to help me. However, if you search "lemon" on this forum, there's quite of few threads about people who lemon their MINIs. Most of them contacted MINIUSA without a lawyer for a buy back or replacement.

My car has 14,000 and already has had one new transmission, one ac compressor, and two crank shaft gaskets. Also the car had another problem before I bought it used with 3000 miles on it but i'm not sure what it was I just saw the repair order last time at the dealership.

I have owned 6 Audi's since 1999 and not a single problem in the bunch.

My MINI is a different story. Two tranys, 2 cluthches, one flywheel, one 1/2 body paint job (thanks to my recless dealer, BOB SMITH) and there is less than 10k miles on my MINI. Sure it is fun to drive but it's been at the dealership six weeks of it's 6 month life. Can't wait to give this Lemon back to BMW.

I already smell the sweet smell of my new S5 convertable being built. Is it October yet? Enjoy your Audi and don't look back!

Yea I'm on my 3rd Audi (allroad), I think I will always have one. Love the new A4 thats what I will probably replace the allroad with when the time comes. Good luck with it.

BTW I would choose Audi over BMW every time, better value for the money, more luxury, and nothing beats quattro.

Have they made changes to the A4 in the past few years ? I test drove one a few years ago and found it to feel "low end" and a bit cold (not temperature wise... aesthetically) in the cabin.

I like the exterior styling though... although nothing beats a MINI in that department unless you spend 6 digits.

Good luck, hope you're happy with your decision.

Really, I think the A4 has consistently had the nicest interior in it class, for the last 3 generations (B5,B6,B7, 1998-2008) in fact it usually wins awards for it. In fact that and quattro I would say have been the two biggest selling points for Audi, and one of the main reasons they have had such strong growth in their market. That being said it looks like lucyl is getting a B8 (new for 2009) which to me goes above in beyond the standard already set. Cold is what I would use to describe 3 Series interiors, especially the last two gen.

Sorry the MINI did not work out well for you. We came over about the same time.

Funny how it goes, I have motored 18500 miles with almost no problems, I even track the MCSa, it is a hoot!

Come back after you get tired of the A4? Perhaps the 2nd MINI will be the charmer.

Have you scoped out a new R56 JCW Cabrio?

Congrats on the new purchase and I commend you on your forgiving attitude. Its nice not to be bitter. BTW, I would be interested in the three things you listed when you determine a price for the please let me know.
