Help me assess the damage!

Someone hit the MINI in the garage at work. Do you guys think the dent could be PDR'd? Any idea as to how much I'm looking at to get it back to like new condition?

And yes, I know it needs a bath

TIA!

I think you need a bigger picture. I can't make out the damage in that pic.

Can't tell from the pictures, but if there is a crease in the panel, PDR won't work.

Thanks for the replies! Here are better pictures. I thought the paint was fine, but there is a pretty bad scratch that I guess will need some sort of re-touching. I have an appt with a Dent Wizard tech in the morning so we'll see what they say. I have a feeling this will be an expensive fix though :(

Any thoughts are appreciated! Oh, and yeah, definitely a new tail light

+1
You just gave us more pictures that are just as badly undersized. Post some at at more like 600 pixels on a side.

Sorry about the mess with the pictures. Are these better?

I don't know that these are better b/c it's night time, but at least the size is larger. The other ones were taken with the IPhone and the camera is pretty crappy. Thanks again!!!!

The pictures are the same size as before, and even less clear in detail. It looks to me like you're posting the thumbnail previews and not the image files themselves.

I don't know in which city or region you live (I did try to find it in your profile), but if you are in the Baltimore metro area go to http://www.marksbodyshop.net They specialize in MINIs and BMWs. They do AMAZING work.

Just can't tell from your pics.
I had a dent about the size of a baseball removed by a dent wizard.
I guess it depends on how good your dent remover guy is.

And if it happened at work, I know I'd be scouring the garage looking for someone with a red paint transfer on their bumper.

Thanks so much for the replies everyone! I can't quite master the picture posting on here so I think that was part of the problem.

I took the car to a Dent Wizard tech today and he said he could not get the dent out b/c it's double metal and it needs to be heated up. I'm not sure this guy is so great, but it's such a hard spot and it's dented in a couple of places. So, went to a body shop and got an estimate of $630 for the body work and $150 for the light. I'm waiting to hear from the driver that hit my car. I hope she decides to man up and cover it. Otherwise, I guess I'll have to get my insurance involved. I don't have her insurance info - just her first name and cell phone number.

Thanks again!!!!

Tell her you got the quote. Tell her she can call the place to verify the price. Tell her she will need to pay you in full before you get the car fixed or you will be contacting your insurance company. Your insurance company will probably have the know/how and tools to find out what insurance company she is with. If not, tell her you are contacting the police.

I am not sure if too much time has went by for you to contact the police. If it really is HER fault, then she needs to pay up.

You have the right to get your car fixed wherever you want. Go where they do the best work.

Don't get it fixed through your insurance company if it is not your fault. Best thing to do is not even let them know about it.

Best of luck. Gorgeous car!

Getting nothing more than a first name and cell phone number is not very strategic when someone hits you. Prepare to pay for this yourself. Even if she agreed to settle at the scene, her husband/boyfriend/whatever will talk her out of it, or she'll have second thoughts herself. She may not even answer the phone if she sees you on caller-id.

I think the OP works with the person in question or at least parks where this person works. I think she can be found at the place of employment as they park in the same garage.

But-- good point. A caveat for others: always get all the deets first and then make a decision.
