Stripes came out great Mini__Gz.

Now time for my .02:
Ditch the "Flawless Sales & Leasing" License frame!
Makes the car look cheap, unless, it's your company that you're trying to promote. I don't believe in advertising for a dealership or car lot unless they're willing to pay for it.

It took me a few months to get some ***** of my own but i regret i hadnt sooner just goo 4 it man ......If u get separate stipes like me and dont have a center..... just tie a string down the hood and bumper tape to emblem and corners .....tighten^ the string so that it is strait ....find 1" tape...... fold it through the middle ...... and line it up with one side on the string so that when you flip the other half over the string will be right in the middle ............ spray everything with soapy water .........and i am sure u know the rest.... just take your emblem off dont try cutting around it unless u have experiance .

Just go to a local sign/graphics shop and they can cut anything you need as far as vinyl, thats what I did.

All my stripes are individual peices, as you can see there are quite a few of them. Also, some of the bubbles in your stripes will flatten out over time so dont worry about that. I did mine for $50~$60 and that included the beltline vinyl and also going back to get more peices cut that I had screwed up. the kit to do these stripes is $225 if you buy it from a vendor. Puttin on vinyl aint rocket science.

How did you get yours on so straight? Any install tips for that part? I was thinking strips of masking tape until satisfied and then following the edges of them. Thoughts? Excellent job btw.

MInI___Gz:

I think you did a gorgeous job and you are hired to come to Ontario and put stripes on my car any day! Seriously.. I think it looks amazing.

I did the checkered sunroof on my car-- it was agonizing but I did it BETTER than I think the dealership would have done-- (cuz they told me they can't install stuff like that!) --whatever that means!

Geting them straight was not really a problem. just find the center of the car and measure equal distances on either side of the center. I used painters tape to mark the measurements, no need to mark the entire lenght of the stripe just the end points. Use lots of water (water witha few drops of shampoo or other soap) if you dont like how it looks just lift it up and try again. The vinly only becomes permanant after it dries. And for the cuts in the stripe, I marked the location of the cuts with tape and just cut along the edge of the tape.

I love my checkered sunroof. I ordered it from morristown mini at half the cost of my dealership here in Ontario. Installing it was nerve wracking... so, I understand your pain! I know you don't seem entirely happy with the stripes but honestly... they look gorgeous. Nothing wrong at all IMHO. It's a fine line between settling for "awesome" and striving for "perfection". hahaha

Interstingly enough... your car is the same as my current MC... PS/B.

I should probably take a picture of just the sunroof next time I wash the car (her name is Mia) to showcase my "Mad vinyl application skillz."

That's a great idea!

I'm not trying to steer you either way, but IMO, checkers and stripes just don't usually mesh well. It's easy to make it too busy looking. A good example of how they can mix well is Rally's old R50 though
