What came w/your MINI?

I'm picking up my 2009 chili red Mini on friday and I'm wondering what your mini came with. My friend found all sorts of goodies in her 2006 mini that the dealer had thrown in; notebooks, pens, keychains, tshirts, toggle switch decals etc. What came inside your mini?

Jack squat!

Oh they did give me a $25 gift card to the BMW merchandise store so I could at most get a free crappy Chinese keychain What a great giftafter getting a $27K car! They are lucky we liked our sales experience so much.

I would have loved some free rubber floormats. The cloth ones are going to get anihilated in the next Michigan winter.

A couple keychains, a hat, a couple stickers, and a $50 gift card (can be used on service or merchandise). So nothing really of worth except for the gift card, but still a nice gesture (considering our MINI was relatively lightly optioned).

Then, a month later, we received a kit from MINI Canada with a keyring holder, playing cards, trivia cards, another keychain, and a CD.

A huge grin on my face.

Other than that, exactly what I paid for, and a free plush bulldog (I had to ask for this since they were charging me for floor mats...).

A month or so later I got my adventure kit from MINIUSA.

It tends to vary greatly depending on the dealer and even the mood of the dealer.

Search the forums and you will find a few very long threads.

This thread pops up from time to time. A quick search will yield quite a few threads.

Short answer, It really depends on your dealer and any negotiations you made with them before the order. If you paid under MSRP, didn't pay a documentation fee, or ordered a pretty base car then I wouldn't expect much. I would, however, at least insist on floormats and a boot mat as they should be standard anyway.

You drive hard bargains.I got maybe a keychain and a "Happy Motoring Dude, Seeya" on my way off the property on that fine April Sunday afternoon. I think I may have received a pen in the mail months later. Floormats? I got a $100 charge for those (worst Benjamin I ever spent-2 shots of good scotch would've been better ).

The surprises were the very nice rubber floor mats (best I have seen) and the full gas tank. Had not been mentioned prior to delivery.

After several months, MINI-USA sent a goody box full of treasure that has been well documented in that huge thread on NAM.

I bought 2 cars. 31K each. Got the S rubber floor mats for both front and rear. But that was negotiated in the deal. So actually I got nothing save for the stuff MINI sends you which is squat in the big scheme of things.

But I did get a heapin helpin of fun that will last for years.

+1 on the full gas tank, actually. Hadn't given it a second thought at the time, but now that I think of it, when our Civic was delivered it only had a 1/4 tank (and that was when gas was .35/L!).

A full tank of gas should be a GIVEN on any new/used car bought from a dealer.

I got a $50 GC for Parts/Server and a package from MiniUSA.

My aunt took delivery of a diesel M-class when they were introduced, and they provided a complimentary tank... of gas! She drove it off the lot and it flashed warning lights and stalled about half a kilometer from the dealership. Apparently the lot boy had mistakenly filled it with gas and drove it back (on the residual diesel in the pump, I guess).

Dealership told her it'd be flushed and there would be no harm--and to be honest, in most modern cars there probably wouldn't be any harm, but she demanded a different car anyways. Not a good start, I guess.
