I have two MCS 08. The first one since June will have a tach that will not work until some travel time and an engine restart. The audio system will be at say, an FM station when turned off. Sometimes, the restart will put the audio source in another function or different station. No pattern on audio, but the tach is about 95% failure each morning. When restarted, it works perfectly from then on.
Any ideas?

 

Does The audio have to do with the key. I know that with the comfort access the key "remembers" the last source that was being used with that key. As for the tach it sounds like it is time for a tip to the dealer.

 

You know, that may be a valid point. My wife & I each have our own fob and sometimes we are in the car together, and I have wondered if the two may conflict, such as who's fob is in control at any given startup.

I am going to have to schedule a trip to the dealer for the tach. We only have 4000 miles, so we should not delay.

after much testing on the multiple key fobs in the car issue it seems to be totally random which one is picked up.

SO i could be just that on the audio system.

 

I don't have comfort access and my FOB remembers where I had the last station on. I also think that it's probably either the FOB or an electrical problem.
