Hoen H8 xenonmatch to replace OEM foglights

Looking to see if anyone has replaced their OEM foglights with the Hoen H8 xenonmatch? If so, how are they?

I replaced the fogs and parking lights with Hoen bulbs. Parking lights are a very good match, nice and white. The H8 fogs have a little more blue then I would like but are far better than the stock bulbs.

Just in case it isn't apparent, Hoen bulbs have nothing to do with Germany, even though they use an umlaut to make it appear that way - they are actually made in Korea.

Those in the know call Daniel Stern for auto lighting needs: http://www.danielsternlighting.com/
He offers the best-available quality bulbs with personal service, and doesn't sell low-quality brands like the Hoen and PIAA.

Hoen H8 xenonmatch are low quality?
Yup - over-priced and under-quality, but that's just my opinion.

Call Daniel Stern, and discuss it with the expert who testifies to the NHTSA on automotive lighting issues. He tests all of these brands, and only sells those that deliver high output for the wattage, with consistently high quality that lasts a long time.

This isn't the best example, but on my 2006 I replaced the H7 highbeams with Hoen Xenonmatch bulbs and they are definitely more blue than the Xenons. My pics in the thread don't really do the blue a justice as you can only see a hint of blue. They're not overly blue like some of the rice-rockets you see on the street, but it is something you immediately notice.

Old Rick swears by Daniel Stern, whom never returned my email although he is apparently much easier to get in touch with over the phone. Many others have compromised and gotten Sylvania SilverStars.

Thanks lovethecorners!

Noticed in that thread too as you indicated that Daniel Stern never responded to your email which is not a good sign. Agree with you that think you are better off sticking with someone else.

Haven't really heard of any problems with the Hoen Xenonmatch. I am looking to order the Xenon lights on my 09 MCS so only need to swap out the fog lights.

Stern is good. He sells high quality parts and knows his stuff. I've found out about him on another message board. His website is full of good information on automotive lighting. He's been trying to improve the lighting (DOT) here in the U.S. Gotta give him props for that.

I used Hoen fogs and high beams in my last car. The light output was great, but I didn't realize that because the lights were tinted blue, they would make the entire light housing turn blue with the reflection at certain angles. I took out the high beams because of this. I had no problem with the color or light output.

Stern does most all of his biz over the phone - I've had issues with email with him too.

But hey, it's a chance to be a little retro - TALK with a vendor...

Did you replace your current foglights with the Hoen H8 xenonmatch?

I replaced my headlights with Sylvania Silverstars, but haven't done anything with the fogs yet.

OK; guess you didn't opt for the Xenon lights when you ordered your JCW?

Only so much $$ to go around! I decided on the JCW steering wheel instead.

I did just order the Hoen H8 and W5W bulbs. Good idea.
