Found another thing that drives me nuts.
The 24" speedo in the centre.(Well it seems that big).
My wife watches it like a Hawk! You can imagine the comments.

A few minor things that drive me nuts!

3. visors (side and front) really need to be an inch or two longer.
2. arm rest, stupid, very bad "investment"
1. #1 nut thing - I really wish there were window drains I could put around the frame so that when getting in & out the rain doesn't drip on my driver's seat. Really.Annoying.

I've already had to turn in my 07 S because the lease is over but my 2010 S has already been built and just waiting for its ship to come in! Needless to say #2 was not ordered this time around.

I don't get it--60 bucks so you don't have to reach down and press a button?

I'd put it toward a new arm rest, instead. Like kodiakpm (and others) have said, it's a really bad "investment."

Pet Peeve?

I'm on my second MINI (first was an '03 S). I absolutely love the MINI brand. My only problem with the MINI is the dealer system: Before...During...and...After the sale.

I'd like for one of the resident electronics experts here to tell me how to "adjust" the big speedo a bit. I have the same problem with my co-pilot watching it too closely. what I'd like would be a little hidden **** that would allow me to move the big speedo needle back about 10-15 mph at will.

"Slow Down!!!! Yer going too da&&n fast!!!" "Er, uh, of course Dearest, right away dear." (...as he secretly reaches for the hidden ****.............).

Uh...exactly HOW fast are you going? Personally, I'd just say, "relax--it's a MINI!" It doesn't work if she drives a Porsche, but it's worth a shot.

Smoothness helps, too.

I'll give it a try the next time I get the slow down speech.

Where do you live?

My only complaint is the dealer system--not enough of them! I drive mine long distance fairly regularly, and it's always at the back of my mind.

You know what we need? Besides more dealers, why doesn't someone make up a list of reliable people that we can print out and carry in the glove compartment? Hmmm. Sounds like a new thread!

+1 on more dealers... i'm lucky to have a friend who i work on my mini with... he mostly does trucks but the concepts of working on a vehicle is the same, its the components that are different...

new pevvvvv.. when i shut my driver door i always hit the dang seat belt buckle! both me and my passenger! sounds like its breaking the inside of the door it hits but i look and nothing is there... thank goodness.. now i have to adjust the buckle every time i get out the car...

Have you used the little plastic slider?

Be very careful with those belts! I have $500 "reverse dent" on the driver's door because someone (I think it was the dealer) closed the door on a belt. Paintless dent removal people say they can't fix it--I have to do it the expensive way. It's an annoying sight every time I walk up to my car.

I didn't spend $60 - I bought the parts and rolled my own using some of the instructions here on the site. I'll have to say though, it has to rank up there as one of the best mods I've done to my MINI. The annoyance of having to hit that button every time was driven home when I recently had a loaner for a week and kept forgetting to hit the button.

Wasn't saying it was a "good" investment for everyone, just that it was an answer to him being "annoyed" to press it every time, that's all.

I have this myself, and I personally love the thing. I double use it as an "overdrive" button so to say when I'm on the highway. When it's programmed as "on", it goes into sport mode about 2 seconds after starting the car. And because it's in sport mode, it won't go to 6th without manually shifting it. So around town, I'm always in sport mode....head onto the highways, and I either hit the sport button to turn it off and head into 6th gear, or I flip the lever to the left and slap it into 6th.

It's all personal choice I guess

No, didn't do my own tutorial as I was relying on DIY instructions posted by other members in the Auto Sport Button Mod thread. I guess the closest I might have come to helping out anyone interested in rolling their own is this post from another thread where I tried to identify some of the more helpful posts that were in the first referenced thread. The biggest challenge for me was getting to the blue wire and tapping into it - the bundle was really tight in my MINI. Not sure whether they are all like that.

Mine makes me want to drive really fast. It's a constant struggle to keep it within the speed limit!

What is wrong with the armrest? Is it positioned too low? Too high? Is it too short? Not enough storage? I love the armrest in my VW Rabbit and was thinking I cannot forgo this option in my next car!

Is that what you guys have: http://www.motoringfile.com/2005/02/...rest_revealed/

I ripped mine out because it annoyed me so much. In the way for shifting (this depends on your body size and preferred seat height), didn't fold back far enough to be out of the way, and the top wouldn't stay closed.

I like to position of my flip up arm rest and it is WAAAAAY better that the ones in our Accord(sorry for the blasphemy). The annoying bit of it not opening far enough to stay open is easily remedied by tilting it up a bit. Yes, it should have been designed a bit better!

lol, the "change lanes" option for the turn signal/blinker does something similar for me.

Since the only options for this feature are to blink 3x or 1x, I change lanes a lot more aggressively since I got the Mini. If it were up to me, I would have it blink at least 5x for this feature.
