Latest Car and Driver Review

It's kinda funny since what you'll save in gas alone will pay for a Mini.
Let me know what you think.

That's a pretty cool fluff article, good for a laugh (especially the R8 vs. the E63). We all know the Cooper is king of the twisties, though, drags don't mean squat.

BTW as a warning never mind the reader comments as they, as always, are filled with a bunch of morons talking trash-- in this case those who think that SUVs are safer than Minis

nice video. definite fluff.
I pulled this stuff off one of the comment links of the article.
heres the crash test photos of an F150 and a cooper both hitting offset barriers at 40mph.
article: http://bridger.us/2002/12/16/CrashTe...perVsFordF150/
pictures:

makes you want to say rude things to the "bigger is safer" thinkers. just look at the legs of the F150 driver.

Man, There is no comparison. Just Look at how much more space is left in tha cabin. Just makes you even more proud of being a Mini owner doesn't it. Screw the lawn I'm going out to motor.

The F-150 vs. MINI was apparently in 2002. The article notes that the F-150 has been significantly improved since.

Whenever someone looks at my car and says "Man... wouldn't want to get in an accident in that" I ask which car they would like to get in an accident in.

Regarding the safety issue IIRC the Mini Cooper is built off a modified BMW 3 Series platform which is exceptionally strong to begin with.

But the crash test is done ramming into a wall-like structure. If MINI got in a headon with a truck the full size truck would ride up the hood and .... you get the picture.

This is uglier than the Pontiac Aztek. Must have an iron lined stomach to look at it when you open the garage door after breakfast.

Yeah it's a cross between the Aztec and an AMC Pacer.
Pretty ruff!
