Post the First 2009 MCS Here!

In the next few days, someone stateside will receive the first 2009 MCS. Be a sport and let us know if you can find any differences from the 2008. And post a few photos, too. You get bragging rights for being the first.

Hey Dan,

I won't get my car for a bit yet, but I thought I'd mention that I am headed your way on Wednesday. Hope Richmond is having good weather.

Saturday and Sunday were miserably hot and humid, but beginning tomorrow the weather should be very pleasant...maybe a few showers. Welcome to Richmond (but I've only been here a few months, so what do I know?)

Yep, got a Mellow Yellow '09 MCS that is in the middle of the Atlantic somewhere. I too am curious about differences, etc. Want to get to adding bells, whistles and trinkets as soon as I can but want to make sure compatability isnt an issue. Should have her here first week of October...hope hope hope.

dude take a lithium. Unless they are JCW, the first 09s didnt even depart SH until week 37 (9/8), then the boat ride, then the VDC, then the ride to the dealer, then dealer prep, then delivery. My estimates are that the first 2009 MCS pics will roll in late next week at the earliest, and only for those customers whose dealers are located closest to the two eastern US VDCs.

soon there will be plenty....!

considering yr post is barely a couple days after the first production week, y're waaaay too optimistic. the process takes longer than U think. see my post above.

besides, other than bragging rights for being first, I dont understand what the fuss is all aboot. After all, this is not 06 to 07 here....

The first batch of non-JCW 09's departed 9/4 and arrived in NY last week (9/13). For some reason, they are still stuck at the VDC though.

the first new model year releases can get delayed at VDC for 50 state emissions certifications. shouldnt take long, tho.

From what I have been told the Sport package has been changed and the DSC is a standard item now in it. My MCS was projected to be built in Wk 39 but will not be built until Dec-Jan because I included the sports package.
They will not build any 2009 MCS with sport package until Dec.

Not taking delivery of my '08

That is one of the reasons I decided not to take delivery of the '08 I ordered in late July. My MCS should be put on the Medea today and be delivered to the California port on 10/12.

True. It seems like MINI is really anxious to get the models out this year. I got mine october 07 and it took a while for 08 to come out, but now its not even october and they are about to have the 09s. Seems 08s are the shortest year of production haha

That is how I ordered my 09 MCS. I was going to do the JCW Aero Kit and then saw that it came in parts which had to be painted by the dealer which added up to a total of around $2000-2500 with labor for a $1200 option. I decided that factory paint and install was a better idea and went with that. Still looks pretty slick in my opinion...well in the build picture I got off the website. Will post pics when Trudy gets here. Should be about two more weeks as she is floating my way now.

Okay, folks, we've had word that the MCSs have been released by the EPA and that the first ones are on carriers to the dealers. So who is going to be first to report that they are driving one? Somebody in New Jersey, I'd suppose...

My '09 MCS has been at the VDC since the 17th. My MA keeps telling me soon . It still has not been released to the carrier. My MA wants to get the sale before the end of the month we'll see .
