Gruppe M carbon cold air intake system

I did the search prior posting and none show up.

Gruppe M air intake system are made in Japan using K&N air filter.

Famous for function and pricy.

I've try to contact them in USA, but their response time is very slow. Guess US distributor is no longer in biz or something.

Their retail cost $1,280 as far as I know.

Hope this clip of pic I scrap shows well.............

Maybe I'm missing something here and I will admit I have limited knowledge of CAI systems. But it would seem to me from all of threads I have seen on here about hood scoops melting that the hood scoop would be the worst place to get cold air. If the scoops are melting how cold can the air be there?

Nice as it can be, but may not worthwhile to spend.

I just like how it look and good idea from Gruppe M.

I prefer to have strut brace across engine bay and drive harder in corner.

I have the GruppeM intake on my M Coupe. Beautiful fit, beautiful finish but I wouldn't buy it for my MCS.

I wonder how much air really gets forced in there. We had a lot of rain yesterday from Tropical storm Hana. I had just installed a DDM Works Street cold air intake the night before. I was worried a little that in a driving rain there might be water going in the front scoop. I was driving in rain that had the auto wipers go on full speed. I have never seen them go on full speed, so it was raining hard. I got home and put the car in the garage and opened the hood to find no water on the engine. This morning I drove to work and the car still had water beading up on it from putting it away wet. I drove 18 miles to work at speeds up to 60. When I got to work I noticed that the car was completly dry except for the scoop. It still had water beads on it. This leads me to believe that due to the aerodynamics of the car that not much air gets forced in there.

The reason for not buying is twofold: 1) Price 2) Many alternatives which are just as good (DDM for example)

The reason I bought it for my M Coupe is there were not many alternatives. I have a Euro spec and didn't want to risk buying an American spec intake, so I bought the GruppeM from the UK.

I agree, unless you need the "Bling" factor (And can afford it) other options are there that will do just as good a job and for significantly less.

Oh~ I wouldn't pay such amount for my own too.

I have an comapany oversea specialize in ecu development for Hyundai and Kia cars, so I definitely knows pwr vs $.

Plus, CAI brings good result at high end rpm zone. Daily driving, short ram or any open type may still work by paying $10.

Get some hot air? So what~ there is always other ways to bring good hps and you are not gonna own the car till your warranty last.

Gruppe M...........just a fancy goods.....and some appreciate when money is no concern.

hi guys.. i am running on gruppe M CAI n is working great for me..it takes on cold air direct from the scoop n there is a smart water diverter which u cant see in those pic which divert the water to a channel away from the air filter. so even in rainy singapore i dont have to worry a thing as only cold air gets to my filter n water channel away from it..cheers!!!(is still running great with great sound coming from it.
