R56 Kia Soul concept Looks Like a Mini Cooper
Kia Soul concept Looks Like a Mini Cooper
Looks like others are attempting to join the bulldog stance club. I think they're smart to use our car as a role model.
What do you think?

That looks like a MINI to you?
Four door, boxy shape, no floating roof, square headlights, rubstrips, no arches, giant C-pillar, taillights on the upper half of the vehicle, SUV-style brush guard.......has way too many differences to "look like a MINI Cooper".
Between that C-pillar design, boxy shape, and the square front headlight/grill design, I think the Kia Soul looks much more like the new Scion XB's

Anyway this "thing" looks nothing like a Mini.

My military training prevents me from enjoying a vehicle refered to as a K I A.
My son drives one and it has been a decent vehicle. it has yet to leave him stranded.
Sad that is the best you can say about a car.

They were definately going more after the xB than the MINI with the S(e)oul. If you see one in person you'll see it's way more SUV than car - although they're calling it a CUV or something. The ones we have are fairly tall and pretty boxy. Surprisingly easy to drive with a 2.0L and manual. I think it'll do well - but that may just be me hoping since that's what keeps me employed.
They're hoping to steal a few JWC sales with the Genesis Coupe and a few Cooper/Clubman sales if they decide to bring over the i10 (A-segment) and i30 (Elantra wagon).

There was actually a guy at my local MINI dealer last Saturday who was cross-shopping the Flex and the Clubman
They may have a few similar design cues, but seriously, the Flex is HUGE. Pictures are very deceptive. Motor Trend said it has more 3rd row leg room than ANY of the competitor's for last year's "SUV of the year" competition.

i agree... a bit off topic but not a big fan of scions... especially tcs... if you own one, im sure you are a great person but some of the tc owners, specially the young ones are soo silly in their tcs...
dont mess with cars with turbos... you drive a TC!!!

Strangest car I've seen.
You serious? Kia is known for stealing design cues and basically making replica cars. They were copping design characteristics from Mercedes HARDCORE in an attempt to make them look like luxury cars. It's the same reason that Kia has no discernible style of their own. They're all over the board trying to look like something else.
I second the statement that the car above looks more like a scion. Not a very good thing tho, if i was a car designer i would see that the deisns of the scions were a very bad mistake.... that should of never been repeated again.
