The ford flex might be a big SUV but my boss just got one and it is a great SUV. He says it's ok on gas. The reason he got it is cause he is 6'10" so he wanted something big but slightly lower to the ground. A mini was out of the question, he can't even fit in the passagngers seat with it all the way back.

He must have some really long legs. My brother-in-law is 6'7" and fits fine in my MINI.
Here's another MINI look-a-like, from Daihatsu. The Trevis.
Those dihatsu's were available before the MINI cooper was ever designed....so it's definitely not a copy or anything.
They were more a copy of the original mini. Having seen them in person, I almost might say that they are a better rendition of the small classic mini than our current day big BMW MINI's. They look amazing.
They really capture the character and design of the classics well.

+1!! But since the Trevis is probably not legal/available here, I am sure glad we have MINIs. Still....this is the kind of car (and the 500) that would give the MINI a run for it's money design-wise....not a direct copy, but rooted in classic design.
The trevis is alright, but it doesnt have the MINI name on its hood. So it still is only second best.... Until it does I my heart belongs to the only mini.
You serious? Kia is known for stealing design cues and basically making replica cars. They were copping design characteristics from Mercedes HARDCORE in an attempt to make them look like luxury cars. It's the same reason that Kia has no discernible style of their own. They're all over the board trying to look like something else.
Yeah, I was. Hyundai Motor owns Kia Motors, that's a fact - though they are technically two separate US companies controlled by two separate Korean companies, one of which is owned by the other.
Anyone can look at an Amanti and see the Mercedes, um, inspiration - I'm not stupid. The reputation is deserved, just not totally accurate still today, that's all. The Soul is aimed at the xB market but isn't a copy, for example.

I'm not sure about that. From a design perspective, the Soul shares a LARGE amount of 'inspiration' from the xB. Almost all of the sculptural lines along the front and side of the cars are identical. With the exception of the C-pillar tilting backwards a little more on the soul....the lines are the same. I threw this together real quick to point out the main lines in the design. You can see the similiarity...esepcially the blue arch line and the uncommon red line that starts under the headlight carving and moves back and then up and around the rear side window. That's not a usual line to see on a car, so it's odd to see it on both of these cars.
