Charging extra for cruise control now?

I ordered my CR/Bm S last week, and my MA mentioned that he saw something "odd" on some screen or print out that he can see. I ordered the wood MFSW for my MINI, and he says it shows that, at $500, which is right (a bit high IMHO, but what I knew was the amount) but it also shows $250 for cruise (or maybe it says MFSW, but the point is it totals out to $750)

When I go into the ownners lounge, it also has them listed seperate. "Multi Function Steering Wheel" and "sports wood steering wheel" instead of maybe "Wood MFSW" which leads me to think that maybe this is a new pricing strategy for the 09's.

He did mention he saw something similar in the past, where they charged extra for color lines and such on some leather interiors, (where they shouldn't have, as it was supposed to be included) but that they did work that out pretty quickly.

Anybody else with an 09 on order see anything similar?

For 2009 the MFSW is now part of the premium pak at $1,250. If U want the *wood* MFSW with the pp, however, that'll cost U an extra $250, for a total of $1500. At least that's how I have mine ordered.

I do believe that if U dont get the prem pak the wood MFSW is $500, leather MFSWs are about 1/2 that. check the configurator, all the pricing bugs have been worked out.

The wood was always an extra $250, but on top of the regular MFSW at $250 it was a total of $500. I'm hearing it is now (together) a $750 option.

The regular MFSW went up to $500 by itself? (and obviously the configurator doesn't reflect this *new* pricing.....)

My 2009 order sheet lists premium package (ZPP): (option code) #249 MFSW, #403 dual pane sunroof, #534 auto a/c: $1,250.

A few lines down we have: #254 sports wood steering wheel, $250.

These prices are set in stone. Look at the configger, it's how they are listed.

BTW MINI has always charged extra for cruise/MFSW.

I think yr MA is confused, which is not a surprise. Lots of brain-dead MAs out there in MINI-land.

For the 2007 model as well, the Leather MFSW was included in Sunroof Premium Package along with Auto Air for $1250.

Just for the 2008, it was changed from Leather MFSW to HiFi @ $1500.

That Sports Wood MFSW would have been $500 without Premium Sunroof Package, that includes basic (Leather) MFSW.

Correct about "MINI Always Charging for Cruise Control";
but quite a few new owners only found out later that they had to have MFSW in order to have CC.

The configurator says wood mfsw 500 bucks. It should not be 500 +250. Hold them to what the configurator says

Maybe I'm just confused, but I think the OP is asking whether, for 2009, there is a charge for Cruise Control in ADDITION to the MFSW.

As far as I know, for 2008 and below, buying the MFSW meant you were getting Cruise Control, whether it was the $250 MFSW or the $500 MFSW w/ wood. There was no ADDITIONAL charge for Cruise.

The OP, I *think* is asking if, for 2009 specifically, there is now an ADDITIONAL charge for Cruise ON TOP OF the MFSW.

Hopefully that was clear and I'm understanding the original question

Okay, the current 09 MCS configuring Flash presentation reads:
"Leather Sport Wheel w/Multifunction: Comforting leather ergonomic finger grips, cruise and stereo controls incorporated right into this sport steering wheel."
While having the cruise controls incorporated into the steering wheel doesn't necessarily mean you have cruise control, I can't find a seperate option for cruise control... even in the cruise/steering section where you specifiy the steering wheel you want.

I think it's safe to conclude that cruise control is included with the MFSW... and the "Wood Sport Wheel w/Multifunction" includes the MFSW, therefore including cruise control.

Actually, I think that cruise control is built into every car, but you have to buy the MFW and have the dealer reprogram the car to activate it. Details in this thread. It would be cheaper, and much less hassle just to include it in your order.

That's what I thought he asked too. I think the answer is no, they shouldn't charge another $250 for CC if you already got the MFSW (which always includes it I think). I also desired a wood steering wheel but couldn't get one when I bought my car ("safety issues"). Now I don't want one 'cause I hear they're slippery.

I ordered the MFSW with the wood steering wheel for my MC '09 and I was charged $500 for the MFSW w/ wood steering wheel option.

When I later got a copy of the production report from my dealer, which shows what items were actually ordered for my car at the factory), it did include two items: $250 for CC and $500 for the wood MFSW. But I asked my dealer and they said I would still only be charged $500. The signed copy of my original order at the dealer shows that I will be charged $500, not $750, which I figure will be my final proof of what I will be charged.

Funny thing about the production report, it also included the Cold Climate pckge with the price listed as "Blocked", which I didn't order. But my dealer says that's the way the production report is formatted for the '09 orders, and said the package has not been included as part of my car order to the factory. (The MC website also doesn't include this package as part of my order.)

Yes, that's exactly it. The wood MFSW should be $500. Not $750

Agree, see above.

I think we're all on the same page here.
