R56 Hot car!
This is a bizarre topic; I've never had an uncomfortable moment in my MCS, the AC works excellent...it chills the place baby and I'm living through the "Great Texas Drought of 2008"...100 degree temps daily. Stay cool fellas.
I didn't get the comfort access option on my on-order 09 MCS... I also DID get the leatherette seats, so hopefully my MCS will remote-open.
Although, I figure the Leatherette seats will be less cold in the winter and, for me, it's better to have a warmer car in the winter then a cooler car in the summer. In the summer, cars are ALWAYS hot (and yes, I did get the cold weather package for the heated seats!).
No anthracite, and a PW roof. No aftermarket tints. The footwell area gets HOT unless I've got the AC on. Then the car cools off nicely. Better AC in the MINI than the 12-year-old Saturn!!
My Auto Air came with the Sunroof package, but the Manual Air should cool just as well.
As many others have reported, my MINI Air is more than up to the task of keeping the car cool in the hottest weather.
I have a Black Roof and no added tinting or shades, usually also have sunroof's open as well (heat rises).
If your AC is not satisfactory, test its performance with a thermometer.
With Max setting, high fan speed, you should see at least a 40f (preferably 50f) drop at center outlets from outside temperature.
If your AC does not properly cool, it would be a valid Warranty Claim to have it Fixed.

(no comfort access here, either)
