Anthracite Headliner and Piano Black

Black/grey leatherette seats, anthracite headliner, piano black and no sunroof - what are some thoughts about this combo? Thanks!

I just did this same combo except with the cream white color line on my new JCW. Should be nice.

BlackS,
Thanks for sharing - how do you think it would look without the sunroof?

Thats the combo I have. (But with the sunroof). IMO it is a must have. It is worth noting that the controls on the headliner are black no matter which fabric color you choose... looks a bit out of place on the white liner.

Dubaian - now it's time to get rid of those visor warning labels to complete the interior blackout!

without the sunroof, I'm not too sure. I sat in one with the anthracite headliner without sunroof and it was fine for the front seat, but the rear seat seemed like you were in a cave. Might have just been me though.

See my gallery...pw 07 mcs with anthracite hl, brushed alloy dash, chromeline and upgrade stereo...no headliner. I like it fine.

The interior would overall look very dark but the silver instruments/trim would pop. If that sounds nice to you then you're good to go!!!

Some MINIs are a bit more sultry looking and that's where the anthracite headliner offering comes in handy. If you want a higher contrast/brighter look, no...it's all a matter of how you want you interior to look/feel.

It gets dirty fast. The plastic will attract dust. I'm sure it will scratch really easily.

Wow interesting discussion guys! I actually test drove the JCW09 yesterday with no sunroof and loved it!! The lack of sunroof makes the front seats feel more focus on "motoring" than anything else. In fact, I barely open the sunroof because the wind noise gets to be quite annoying after a while.
Our current R53 has sunroof and its nice, specially for the people in the back. But in our case, we barely seat anyone back there. In my opinion, the JCW feels and looks more sporty without this option.
I am seriously considering not installing one, but at the same feel a little worried I might regret that move.
Re: Anthracite, piano black interior its great...I am not changing that on my options plus black leather!!

It'll be pretty dark inside but it'll look good. Which color line are you thinking of getting? With black and grey seats, the grey color line is probably the way to go.

It would make some sense for a performance car (JCW) to be without sunroof considering the weight gain in the wrong place. That'd be some consolation for doing without.

Like this:

Excuse the bare panel on the right. I was removing the rear speakers.

It's the stock color line - not upgraded gray interior. You could pay $250 for the dark gray color line.

Bananas, you're probably right on about the grey color line - thanks! Do you think the standard color line would work as well? I do not see much difference between the dark grey color line and the standard color line. Thanks again for your help!

Mine is also the stock color line. I ended up covering the door armrests with leather from Redline.

Bandit, thanks for such an immediate response. It looks super, but if you were to do it again - would you get the standard or the dark grey color line? In other words, are you happy with the standard color line? Do you know which one is lighter in color? Thanks again!

Huh, this whole time I thought the standard color line and the dark grey color line were the same thing! I could've sworn the dark grey color line was selected by default. Had to make a little trip back to the online configurator to see that they're charging extra for the dark grey color line. Anybody know the difference? I'm betting the standard color line would be the best choice then, because if the grey & black leatherette seats are the default seats, I would think the default color line would match them.

COOP310, please excuse the fact that I'm a real novice. I know that I might come off here appearing to be totally ignorant, but please tell me what IMO stands for - thanks!
