R56 Factory John Cooper Works
That's cheaper than Brembo GT...
...and most brake kits only give you front brakes.
If you find that steep, please name another 4-piston big brake for the R56 that is cheaper?
Here in Germany that price is awesome for a brake kit that does not need to be technically approved (original spare parts for the win).
The usual suspects are AP-Racing, MOV'IT, TAROX and Brembo... only Brembo is carefree, when it comes to technical inspection/approval. Those are all front-only AND more expensive.
That new brake for the MINI JCW (made for MINI by Brembo) is awesome IMHO.

Baraka that sounds like a great price for all 4 brakes, by the way I have been to Mainz a few times, did typical tourist stuff saw the Roman Gates, checked out the open air market on Sunday and the old Cathedral. I bet the cobblestone roads would be a rough ride, LOL. Cheers Gman
Those cobblestone roads are mostly pedestrian area... those few streets open to cars are being avoided (where possible) - no fun to drive on, whatsoever.

PS: Next time give me a PM and we'll go for a round on the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife - much more intersting to a petrol head than good old Mainz.

Just for arguments sake: all the big brake kits I know of (and I spent the last couple of weeks researching) are more expensive and all of them require labor.

I'm totally with you on the fact that the MINI John Cooper Works is a good deal compared to an upgraded MCS ... that's probably the reason why it's sold out.

If I could swap my MCS for a new JCW I would...
wow, so you'd be better off with buying the JCW... 2-3k for brakes, several more k for a worked motor and the stickers and such...the JCW seems like a bargain now.
And I'm not even counting all the hot women that will swarm the car and it's owner.
Just this factor alone is worth the price of JCW admission.

About the brakes... yesterday I went to my dealer and found out a few interesting things.
In Germany we have a part number (34 11 0 432 802) for the complete retrofit brake kit (front and rear).
R56 MINI Cooper S (stock)
front: 294 mm (= 11.5748031 inches) brake disc diameter
rear: 259 mm (= 10.1968504 inches) brake disc diameter
R56 MINI John Cooper Works (retrofit brake kit)
front: 316 mm (= 12.4409449 inches) brake disc diameter
rear: 280 mm (= 11.023622 inches) brake disc diameter
The price tag is 1,780.00 Euros (~2,820 $US).

Have a guess what's going to happen once I sell my motorcycle ... the cash will be spent for... anyone guessing?

I'm also working on a 5x120 hub for my car in which case I would be able to use the 330i brakes that fill up 17" wheels even more.
Personally, I think red (black) white is awesome and the white/red/white stripes (going all the way) add that race look perfectely.

Thanks. I've seen the Challenge series car pictures. That is a cool look. The Red/White combo with center stripes reminds me of classic sports car racing. My wife prefers the Chilii Red/Black. I'm not sure which way I want to go.
