If you don't order the JCW aero then it looks just like an S except for the badges, which means you get the chrome grille trim. Did you think you got something else?

Thanx for the FYI... I had read that after; I knew I should have re-edited my post...

Cheers, will post a full report by Friday at the latest. I may be out motoring a little too late tomorrow night to have a review in me at the end of it.

Except in Canada we get the factory Aero kit as standard on the JCW

Yeah sorry I, along with the rest of the planet, forgot about Canada.

I'm joking of course.

The Pics of pjappy's JCW doesn't have an Aero Kit so I guess the box was checked that opted out of that.

Pjappys JCW does have the aero kit, the factory one. Canada gets the factory aero kit not the JCW one.

Thanks Mozza, guess my tired eyes didn't see the lower bumper. Did you sleep at all? I've got another 6-8 weeks and I'm already not sleeping, LOL. Cheers Gman

Just noticed today that we have LB/LB JCW in the satellite lot, must have been dropped off yesterday. It has the factory aero kit with painted arches.

Partsman,
That PW/PW, MINI JCW is my car! Funy thing happened, I first learned that the car was in fact at the dealership by reading this thread Tuesday evening! Needless to say I got there had a first look just before they closed. Anyway thanks for the heads up. I'll be heading over to take delivery in about an hour and a half. This is my third MINI and second JCW, the first an 04, red with a white roof S and a works package . Should be lots of fun.
Cheers,
BB

Cool, i'm glad you decided to post here.

I was in the shop yesterday on my lunch when the PDI was being done and the driving lights were being installed. Very nice car! The color combo with the interior looks great!

If you need anything for it, just let me know.

Should be lots of fun indeed.

Looks awesome, thanks for sharing
I removed mine for two reasons. For one I think the "S" logo in Cooper S is one of the worst and most played-out logo designs in the world and I've been on a mission to remove it since I picked up my car. BTW... I have now done that

Secondly when I did it last September I had quite a bit of info regarding the upcoming branding of the new JCW and I figured it made sense bring my car in-line with what was coming.

This from the John Cooper Works Accessories bulletin...

Please note: The limitation in wheels is not only caused by the larger diameter of the brake discs, the new brake caliper is also wider, which requires a specific design of the wheel spokes to allow for enough clearance. Please do not install any other wheels other than the ones shown in the enclosed listing. These are the only approved wheel styles by MINI for these vehicles.

The list...
R97 Flame Spoke
R104 Crown Spoke
R108 Multi Spoke
R112 Cross Spoke Challenge
R113 JCW Cross Spoke

Thanks. It looks like I'll get 17" for a second set of wheels, but also have to make sure 3rd party wheels clear the JCW BBK. I'm not about to overpay for factory wheels, especially for track and/or winter use.

I was going to post that as well, but for some reason I didn't, sorry.

All the wheels I listed except for the R113 have a ET48. The R113 has an ET52

About the brakes... yesterday I went to my dealer and found out a few interesting things.

In Germany we have a part number (34 11 0 432 802) for the complete retrofit brake kit (front and rear).

R56 MINI Cooper S (stock)
front: 294 mm (= 11.5748031 inches) brake disc diameter
rear: 259 mm (= 10.1968504 inches) brake disc diameter

R56 MINI John Cooper Works (retrofit brake kit)
front: 316 mm (= 12.4409449 inches) brake disc diameter
rear: 280 mm (= 11.023622 inches) brake disc diameter

The price tag is 1,780.00 Euros (~2,820 $US).

Baraka that sounds like a great price for all 4 brakes, by the way I have been to Mainz a few times, did typical tourist stuff saw the Roman Gates, checked out the open air market on Sunday and the old Cathedral. I bet the cobblestone roads would be a rough ride, LOL. Cheers Gman
