On the plus side...

It's only a hard decision because you're deciding between 2 great choices (no REAL downside here). Only you can know what is most important to you...figure that out and just do it....and then have some fun and feel good about your choice

Agreed! I know, I will be satisfied once I make a decision. Both cars are great and have a ridiculous amount of good points to each.

This mental anguish is necessary to ensure I make the right decision.

Trust me...I know...I'm going thru the same right now. Debating a GTI vs. MCS.

If it helps at all...look at it this way...in the end, neither decision will be "perfect", but if you REALLY aren't happy with your decision, you can always make changes as you go...sorta like the old saying "life's a journey....not a destination"

I do this same thing with all purchases, but have been slowly trying to get better at it, and tell myself there is a difference between being "prudent" and "paralysis by analysis"....(not saying you're in the second category...just that I am ).

Not sure if any of this is helping or not (my AIM is to help )...just know that, either way....good choice! and you can "adjust as needed" after your decision.

One difference between the 2007 and later models is that the Bluetooth option on the 2007 does not have a USB connection. With the USB port you can connect an iPod using both USB and AUX ports. The USB port will charge the iPod and allow you to control it through the Multi-function Steering Wheel. The track titles will appear on the radio readout. With a NAV, you can see a list of the tracks on the NAV screen and use the joystick to navigate through them, or the MFSW.

On the 2007, you only have an AUX input. You have to manipulate the iPod itself unless you spend about $600 on iPod Integration.

One thing I would want to know about that 2007 was why it was available. Was it returned through the lemon-law, or what? I'd want to see its repair history.

True. The dealer said they bought it at auction so they're not sure about previous owners. Good call on trying to get repair history though.

As for iPod integration, it'd be nice but I'm thinking I might rather get a mount for it and put it near the right of the steering wheel. I have an iPod Touch and the interface is awesome. I think I'd rather use that than use the MINI's interface, which I've read has some quirks.

They bought it at an auction? Hmmm.
Honestly I would go with ordering new.

The car is definitely optioned very well based on what you posted and I checked what the packages included in the MINI brochure that I have.

Maybe you can take the VIN number for the MINI you are interested in to the service department and see if they can run a history report and give you a print out.

Might have been in a serious accident.

After a day of hard thinking, research, mental anguish, etc. I've pretty much decided on going with ordering a JCW. Assuming I can get finances squared away in time to secure the third of three the dealer has coming in for delivery in September, I should be good. Will give me a little time to make damn sure I know what config I want, and I'll be able to save some for the down payment as well.

Thanks for the advice, all. I'm continually impressed with NAM.

Anthracite comes standard on the JCW. :P

JK, I'm going nuts trying to figure out which seats, color line, dash, and whether I want the Premium package. Oye.
