I finally ordered my very own Mini last weekend!

Yes folks I finally did it. I've been talking about buying a mini for years now, as my friends love to point out.

I'M SO EXCITED!!! Went to the dealer on Saturday 5/24 and put in my order.

So here is my baby....

Color A67 British Racing Green metallic paint
Upholstery Grey/Carbon Black Leatherette
Convenience Package
249 Multi-function steering wheel
319 Universal Garage Door Opener
322 Comfort Access system
431 Auto-dimming rearview mirror
473 Center armrest
521 Rain sensor and auto headlights
6NE Comfort Bluetooth and USB/iPod adapter
Premium Package
403 Dual pane panoramic sunroof
534 Automatic air conditioning
6FD MINI HiFi sound system

STEPTRONIC automatic transmission
Anti-theft alarm system
Roof and mirror caps in black
Satellite radio lifetime subscription

I might get the racing striped added later.

I just joined the owners lounge to watch my car being born and to track it.
I'm not sure what my week is, I forgot what the finance guy told me.

Yes, now the waiting begins. I'm going to have to work my butt off to keep busy so time will go by faster!!
I am loving this message board, already after only being here a few days I have gotten some amazing information.

Congrats! Sounds like a sweet Mini!

There are a couple things that most folks order or wish they ordered that you might want to consider adding... front & rear foglights (will give you a full bank of toggles) and an anthracite headliner (dark grey vs. dove grey standard).

I will get mine in a few days. The wait seems long but hang in there and enjoy the anticipation. Congrats.

I already changed my order twice and I think if I tried to do it again they will smack me. I think it's to late now anyways.

Thanks everyone. I'm learning all the Mini lingo too. I finally figured out what toggles are but I like how everyone here doesn't mind explaining things.

How do I find out my production week?

So the automated system gave me an estimated completion date of June 11th! I still haven't figured out what week I am though.

Hi there and Welcome!! Sounds like you have a great MINI on order

I think you are in week 24. Our MCS was completed on May 21st and we are week 21. You are three weeks after ours so that is what I came up with. Feel free to check my math.....it is late here

There is probably a Week 24 thread out there somewhere in 1st Gear. It is a great place to find people waiting for the same dates you are and helps to pass the time!

I don't think your MA would mind if you keep changing your mind although.. hehe. Well hey, that's what they're there for!

No actually, what I'm trying to say is, I too, didn't order the front fog lamps when I placed my order and now I finally realized that I needed it but I got to order it a day too late. I ordered mine 5.15.08 and that very same day was told production won't start 'til 6.6.08. When I finally came to and wanted the fog lamps, I e-mailed my MA on midnite of 5.31.08 if I could still add it, and he told me it already started production that morning! So yeah I was a little bummed esp after I asked him if they could add it themselves and was shocked to read his reply "Last time I knew someone had this done they paid $750.... :-)". For a $250 fog lamps.

Reason I wanted to add while it was still in production was 'cause of the warranty. Because you won't get the same warranty once it's out of the factory.

Oh yeah, I was bummed for a just a few minutes, but realizing that my baby was made a week in advance just altered my mood considerably!

Ask your MA about the production week, maybe it's not yet too late...

And CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW MINI!!

Congratulations jjp007!

That's a very nice MINI that you've got on order.

But tell me, is it an MC or MCS?

Don't forget to post pics when you take delivery, we do so love pics... yes we do!

Enjoy & Motor On!

Congratulations! Be sure to check out some of the sticky posts at the top of this forum for info on how to track your MINI on it's boat ride across the pond! It's pretty neat to watch!

Talk to the live operator instead. She/He will give you much better info. By the way, I received mine a week ago Thursday and I luv it.

The live operators are GREAT! The website might have improved since last August, but was really slow!

Call you MA to see if you can get what you want. I agree with the poster about he fog lights, and depending on where you live, you may want to consider the Cold Weather package. Even in So Cal, the warm seats and esp. auto heat side mirrors would be nice. That, and not getting the wood MF wheel are my only regrets!

Congrats!!!

I have a newbie question Scoopmama, what does the auto heat side mirrors do? I always see you at SSOCMCC [ooops shhh... ] and I believe this is my first "hi!" to you!

Hi Tweeckey!
I've seen you there too! If you come by the Tustin MINI/Mini show next Saturday, I'll be there, admiring all the MINIs.

The auto heat folding side mirrors fold in (not something I'd really care about) but they heat up, so you don't get that early AM condensation on them. (Of course, my baby is my fun weekend driver and doesn't see early morning fog!)

Enjoy your MINI!

Very nice! Now looking at yours I am really starting to like the white....hmmmm. Oh well and with all the talk about the sunroof problems on the black roof I am wondering if I might have made a mistake. It's hot here in Texas so I hope my sunroof doesn't end up giving me problems.
I finally got the VIN, it seems more real now. I've haven't felt this silly in so long. Since I got the VIN yesterday I haven't checked the OL or called today, my first day since I placed the order I have not called

Thank you for the info!

Yup, I'll most likely drop by with my bro and his gf that day. I'm so excited to check all those modified MINIs out! See you there ScoopMama!
