R56 Real World Cooper S mileage
I'm averaging about 28.2 mpg - calculated on my Gas Cubby phone app. OBC gives me about 30 mpg. 70% fwy and rest is city. No engine mods and I use the sport mode during city driving.
Ok, I'll jump in...
16,200 miles, the OBC says.... (drumroll please...) 30.0 MPG. It's gone down since new, (from about 33mpg combined), probably due to the increased ethonol in the gas...

6 months old, 9500k on the miles and OBC is stating 29.5 MPG. This is running with Sport Mode on most of the time.
I just noticed the mistake...4 days later.

hrmm... 540-600 miles would mean you're getting roughly between 41 and 46 mpg.
Gas Cubby (iOS) had me at 31.7 MPG last tank and that include a lot of country road driving in VT along with some highway. But based on the historic data (since Sept 2009) i average 30.2. If i do more highway i get 34'ish and if i lean more towards city driving i get around 27
I've been getting around 31-33mpg pretty consistently, Hand calculating at every fill up. This is with a mix of city and highway driving. If I do all highway motoring I can start to nudge the 40 mark. This is of course if I behave and don't drive it like I stole it
Me Too!
I drive about 350 miles per week doing 50/50 highway and city. I am on only my 4th fill up but the OBC says I have been getting between 32 and 34 mpg. What really impressed me was last Sunday I drove my daughter to Logan Airport from RI. 70 miles each way. I set the cruise at 70 mph and had the AC running and the OBC said I got 38+ mpg for the round trip. I am loving this car!
2011 MCS, ~7K miles on the clock, 75% highway.
I am most pleased that my average fuel economy thus far (~36 MPG) is easily 2 MPG better than the six-year average on my previous '05 JustaCooper that was based on hand calculations for every single tank of fuel over the life of my ownership.
All those extra turbo-powered horses, plus better mileage too. I call that win-win.

Did they start using ethonol in the last year, or start using more (like E15)?
Might want to replace your spark plugs if you have not done so.
With 10K on the clock, averaging 33.4 mpg in a healthy mix of expressway and city driving. Consistently at 38 mpg or a little better on all interstate driving. Beats the heck out of my Titan 4x4. We used the truck to pull a 12' double axel UHaul trailer moving my son to his new apartment in Columbus, OH last weekend and average 12-13 mpg - ouch! Of course, the MINI can't pull a 12' UHaul trailer. It's great having the right tool for the job.
