Which floor mats would you buy?

Dealer won't throw in (or even discount) my floor mats, so I may as well get what I want.
I need to get some rubber mats for our New England winters. Car has a carbon/gray interior.
So - what would you get?
Factory Cooper S mats? Black or gray?
Or, would you buy something other than factory mats?
I use WeatherTech mats in our other cars, but that's probably overkill for the Mini (which is kept, umm, cleaner than the family van).
Thanks and I apologize for asking such a newb question; the autocrossing equipment questions will come later!

what dealer are you buying from? see your location is central mass, and the only two dealer i know of in mass, and have delt with are Mini Of Peabody which i will be getting my car from shortly, and Herb Chambers mini which i previously delt with...didnt like them and only think they threw in the mats and a shirt for the BS they gave me.

Mini oem mats are not recommended. Expensive and not so great (been there). I love Cocomats a lot. Not cheap but quality is way above Mini, lots of looks/colors. If you need something for the slop there are tons of options out there, just don't spend much if it's to get muddy.

I like my rubber mats. I paid for them and I'm okay with that.

I would get the boot mat, even if you go with other mats in the front.

I like OEM rubber Mini mats, they pull out easy and hold Nero well (yeah I put a shine on my floor mats)

They were recommended by a lady in my mini club who said she slipped a whole 20 oz coke and the floor mat held it in place till she could stop and clean it up. Thats cool.

ditto on the rubber mats. They are very heavy duty and fit perfectly.

They must have liked you better than they liked me
I'm not going to let free mats (or lack thereof) stand in the way of me enjoying a really great car, though.

I would recommend the floor liners from weathertech. Sounds like you are familiar with their products. The floor liners are a custom fit and look great.

+1 rubber mats, sorry they don't want to throw them in as part of the deal. My dealer gave them to me for free.

www.cocomats.com for me. They are rubber backed and liquids do not soak through. If you get them muddy, just pull and brush them. A couple of times a year, I just take the hose to them and stand them up against a wall. Dry and ready to reinstall in a hour in the sun. To me, rubber mats are like clear plastic covers on the living room sofa.

I 2nd that! The only problem with the weathertech mats are, they do not come with mounting screws/clips. In my case, I used interior clips like those used all over the mini. I drilled a couple of holes in the not so conspicious places this way they stay in place and whenever I need to clean them, they come right out. You cannot beat these mats, I've tried others and these, by far, are the best!

I bought the MINI rubber mats and like them. Can't really see how they could be improved.

I have a Piano Black interior with the door armrests covered with Redline black leather. So, pretty much a black and grey interior.

If you get the MINI mats, be sure they give you Velcro tie-downs for both sides. Mine only came with them on the driver's side. They work very well.

Get Coco mats. Got mine and love them. Worth every penny for so many reasons. Look great, don't show dirt or debris, tough. There's a thread on this already and here's a link:

I purchased the WeatherTech FloorLiner mats, and love them!

I'm not a fan of the Cocomats and prefer the industrial look the WeatherTech mats provide, plus the all-weather protection is handy in the winter.

I cannot say it enough how good the Floor Liners are. I live in Canada, so we get the heavier "ring" style floor mats from the dealer, and I own a set of those. They would often get damp, and I thought that they were protecting my carpets, but I always still got a salt stain ring around the footwell area.

Mid winter I put a set of the Weathertech floor liners in, and within a day, I would get a small puddle - something that never happened before. Obviously that water used to go into the carpet, as it was not being contained.

It was never an issue, and I could dump it easily if it ever got to be more than I wanted, but I am so happy about the protection my carpet is now getting. The coverage is more than I could have ever hoped for.

No problem with the wigglying around here Saturn, but is you must have the clips then do what you have to...I hate to see holes drilled in anything that didn't already have them. Just my .02

You have to be kidding me: mounting screws/clips for floormats? WUWT? Throw the suckers on the floor and get motoring! You're making things harder than they are.

I have to agree. I ordered the Coco Mats and could not be happier. They fit perfectly and the dirt, if any, filters to the bottom of the carpet where it is contained in the rubber underlayment. So very easy to clean and they really look great. Just my 2 cents.

And, coco mats will bring me back to my early '70s BMW driving days!
I think what I might do is get coco mats for the non-winter, and go to rubber mats for the nasty stuff.
Thanks for all of the thoughts and suggestions.
