R56 R84 16" V-Spoke Wheels
R84 16" V-Spoke Wheels
Has anyone put R84 16" V-Spoke Wheels on a R56 MCS? In another thread in the Wheels and Tires forum a GP owner said that he had them on his GP with the same brakes so it should fit a R56. I have an opportunity to buy a set and before I do a wheel swap to check I thought I would see if anyone has run them here.

Looks excellent, but the car in the photo is an R53 MCS, no? Question is: Will they fit on the NEW R56 MC's or MCS's? Probably a dumb newbie question, but have to ask, 'cause I love them!.
Also, does anyone know if there's an aftermarket company doing R84 knockoffs (ASA, Konig, etc...)? I'd love to get a set with some performance rubber on them for the summer months.

FINALLY, I can say "YES" to the question!
Here is a photo of my '08 MC with R84 wheels on and ready to roll! I bought new tires (Bridgestone Potenza 195-55-16) and TPM sensors as well from Discount Tire. They mounted 'em up in about an hour, and I was motoring again!
So (at least for the Cooper; the jury is still technically out for the Cooper S) the final answer is that the R84 V-spokes WILL fit on the new R56 MC!
Case closed!

Dont think they will the S, because R56 S has JCW brakes, and the S was given larger lug bolts in MY 2006, so the old R84s would not fit. That's why the R84 was NOT an S OEM wheel from 2006 on; too bad because I love em. Check with yr service advisor about this.

dhoosee your MINI looks great!
I'll believe it when someone posts a pic of a actual R56 with R84 wheels. In the interim, y're saying there are 12mm and 14mm lug R84s? The R84s on my R53 are most certainly 12mm.
BTW those R84s make for the classiest looking GP Ive ever seen. what a huge improvement!

I'm thinking that both the 12mm & 14mm lugs will fit the R84.
Call Jason at Classic & have him check if there are two part numbers for that wheel. One for 12mm & one for 14mm, I'd be very surprised if there were more than one.

Thank you kindly, Sequence! I love the look too.
BTW, I'm riding on Bridgestone Potenza radials (no run-flats) and they are GREAT tires for straight up motoring and some mildly agressive driving. Much more forgiving in ride and quiet than my old rock-hard Conti RF's.
I would highly recommend these tires to anyone that does simple around town or highway driving, yet still wants to get a little frisky in the turns. Never really liked Bridgestones, but so far, I'm sold on these! Inexpensive too...only paid $95 or so per tire, though each TPM sensor was $70 or so.
Stupid-as*ed laws for TPMS! I'd prefer checking them myself for free with a good ol' fashioned tire gauge.
