THE REAL COLOR OF SS, AND OTHER ISSUES

O.K, I've had my Mini since Aug.1. Most annoying thing is the placement of the seat belt, on the column....it is so hard to reach....how do you do it? MY ARM HURTS! I am also lazy...what is easier...moving the seat back, or the seat back, back?

I visited NW Mini yesterday to see the Clubman. They seem very practical. The Hot Chocolate colored one is a winner. I like how the boot opens.Only 9" longer. It seems like more.

Now for the most important part...for all of you who are having trouble describing the color of thr SS, it is definitely, without any doubt or trace of ambivalance....LIGHT BRONZE. If you open up a jar of acrylic bronze paint you can see the green separate sometimes. For a painter who paints with metallic paint all of the time, it took me all this time to notice..gee whiz.

Light bronze, catchy.

My insurance agent spotted the green tinge when walking out to inspect it. I'd never seen it until that moment. Something about certain light.

I like it in any light.

Light bronze is a good description. I like the "sparkling" part though, so maybe "Sparkling Light Bronze."

It is supposed to be the color of Champagne (sparkling wine).

It's beautiful in any case, but I chose not too get a metallic...cost...harder to match...more costly to repair chips (I have already had two) and less visible on dark rainy nights. I have not seen any on the road, and I do miss having a rare color.

You need to find a Jet Black MINI.

I agree with you on all counts though... that's why three MINIs and not a metallic paint among them.

Jet Black would've been my first choice. A year or so too late though.

Chile Red was a big contender too.

We're quite happy with Sparkling Silver.

We were set on black and were at the dealership putting in our order for Astro Black when we realized it was more like an Astro Dark Blue. We saw an SS sitting on the lot, looking gorgeous and made the switch after seeing it in both daylight and under the lights at night and haven't regretted it one bit.

champagne seems appropriate BUT it does have a slight green shade.
A bit of a chameleon color. Depends on lighting. I like it.

Try out a seat belt holder.
