Don't worry you'll get used to it, start lifting weights now.

Heresy!

The torque steer makes it interesting.

the TS makes it undriveable. IMO, of course. Needs AWD.

Should reduce the actual effects to some extent, but will add its own distinct feeling to powering out of turns.

+1.
Upgrading the suspension helps with it as well.
As does lifting weights and learning to grip the living hell out of the steering wheel... Perhaps the JCW 'fatty' would be of assistance???

When would one notice TS? I've had my MINI for about two months and I haven't noticed anything.

Sounds like you ordered the factory clutch-pack limited slip diff.
Clutch pack LSD in FWD = torque steer in an otherwise neutral setup [as I learned the hard way]

Come to a stop turn the wheel to the right (or left doesn't really matter) and hit the gas. The steering wheel trying to come out of your hands is TS.
LSD's don't really help TS, some say they make it worse. Personally, I just floor it, hold on tight and let the DSC take care of the rest all the while grinning like an idiot.
+1 on the brake dust, that stuff comes back the same day you clean it off. Next wheels are gonna be a little bit darker me thinks.
