Hello all - We just traded in our beloved 05 MCS (58,000 miles) on a 15 CMS All4 automatic. We only have 111 miles on it but when I am outside of the car, and it is running it has a tapping sound from under the hood. Sort of like a valve or lifter. We've never owned a turbocharged car before. Is this normal?

It's not the turbo your hearing but the direct injection system. Diesels also use direct injection and that what it sounds like to me.

I had two previous R53 and yes the R60 is a "ticker"...as you stated you can only hear standing outside.....which is good!
