And also is it as sturdy as the factory sport wing?
Yah I will put on in his gallery in about 2 min, but it is very sturdy...now if you have good hearing you will hear a high pitched whistle from about 45mph to 70mph from the aero dynamics, but its nothing that should stop you from getting it, i wouldnt back out even after having it! def. worth the mod if you can! looking forward to seeing you SD when all is said and done...MAKE SURE you get boot stripes to match the bonnet stripes that you have...just doesnt make sense to just have the front!

and so far Im liking just my bonnet stripes, unless the kit comes with some I dont know about? Kinda like how I found out that it includes a JCW grille as well
What color are the edges of the wing? Does the color vary?

oops NOT SD, DS(dark silver)....bonnest stripes are great, and you can get custom Stipes that are called Boot stripes that will be spaced apart down the back just as the front is done....VERY easy install....they do not come with them, but you can get them from the dealership, its just custom that their striping guy should be able to do...that and have him extend them on the bumpers...look AWESOME! check out this thread for examples... https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...15#post2017315 as far as the WING is concerned...the edges are silver but as you can see in my dad's he had the striping guy put little black accents on there, gives it a little bit more flare, but they are just normally silver.....any more questions dont hesitate to ask!

I was thinking more in the way suspension mods; R56 begs to be lowered. Hasn't it been confirmed that the JCW stage 2 is only going to be available as a factory installed option?
For that price I'd definitely go with the body kit though; that's seriously a steal!!!
Wing a little bit less so

yea it does but the extra ground clearence was actually a plus because i do live in NYC and the front bumper is lower w/the JCW body anyway, so it should balance nicely.
I'm not sure about only being factory installed but if it follows the lines of the r53 it will be much more expensive to buy the JCW parts elsewhere and install at a local place

It won't be following the lines of the R53 I'm afraid. The "Stage 2" or Factory car will be exactly that, a car and not a kit and as far as I know none of the engine modifications made to it will be retrofittable. I'm in Astoria maybe I'll see your nice new DS around when I pick up my JCW factory car in August.

Yes the 'Stage 1' otherwise known as the JCW Dealer Kit is available for sale and install at the dealer but that's it, there won't be a 'Stage 2' kit available from the dealer because the stage 2 is coming from the factory as it's very own separate model. You read motoringfile?

That's true, since the aero kit visually lowers the body it should provide a sweet balance. My MINI is lowered without the aero kit and as it stands my front bumper (especially that damn aero lip or whatever it is) is pretty close to the ground.

That's exactly it: the stage 1 kit is a completely dealer installed package as it consists strictly of bolt-on parts (muffler, airbox, badges and of course the ECU flash). So you have no choice but to buy a standard R56 then get it installed, even if before delivery. The stage 2 kit is supposed to be a completely factory installed package as it will deal much more with the inner workings of the drivetrain (turbo, clutch, valves, etc.). So the car will arrive completely "JCW'd" from Oxford, the dealer will have nothing to do with it performance parts wise.

Ah see that is a detail that I didnt know, which is kinda blah becaause i wanted to out do my cousin by getting a stage 2 JCW, and yea im waiting for my cousin to tell me the literal difference in inches as to how much lower the front end will be from the stock one

Yea, you're definitely not the first one to be unhappy about that minor detail, nor the JCW Stage 2 in general. Will be interesting to see how sales of it goes...

As far as outdoing your cousin with the Stage 1 - too easy, call up ALTA. They'll have you there in no time!

Well if you're looking at the JCW stage 2...
Seriously though, they could most likely have you at least right with him for less than the price of a stage 1 kit. I haven't dyno'd my MINI yet, but in comparing it to a MINI I test drove with JCW stage 1 (granted it wasn't even past break-in) mine felt noticeably more powerful.

Tell you what, look at the DDM Street Air intake bc the JCW intake is GARBAGE! My dad has the JCW stage 1, and the only difference in standard and stock is the box with a logo, and a new filter...THATS IT....it does nothing...DDM street will boost your horse, and the ALTA exhaust will get you good bc the JCW exhaust consists of them CUTTING off the muffler and bolting a new one on..., ALTA will get you a new down pipe and catback....both of which are being installed on my '07 as we speak..should be done tomorrow...it wont be hard to out do him, just find the right guys to get your work done...and i cant even believe that you are still debating the Aero Kit...i mean, i understand if its either speed or looks, but u are already gunna get it for a steal in price...word to the wise...DO IT! Hope to see pictures from ur mods in the near future!...as soon as all of my studd is done i will have pictures up, should be saturday or so
