My friend is considering Gotham Grey Door Panels with Cloth Check Carbon Black seats, in an Oxygen Blue MINI. Does anyone have photos of the Gotham Grey Door Panels?

Does this sound like a good combination?

It does not show up well on the MINI website.

I wanted to lighten the interior, so I ordered them just based on what I'd seen on NAM as the dealer didn't have any.

Hopefully my choice will be validated!

I like the second set of photos, showing the Gotham Grey Door Panels with the black elliptical trim element. What controls the color of the elliptical trim element?

And is the Cod Piece on the Sport seat going to be grey with the Cloth Check Carbon Black Seats, or will it be Black?

When is your order coming in (not sure, but is week 10 build the middle of March, and then how long does it take to get to you?)

Not sure on the gray vs. black-- can't remember. Might check out the rest of the owner's galleries to see if you can tell from other shots.


Well, my little cooper is supposed to be built 1st week of March (trying not to bother ASK MINI too much before then!) and I'm a left-coastie, so I'm thinking mid-to-late April. Can't wait!! My hubbie has a Lotus Elise, so I finally get my own fun car. Then we have the SUV when we want to be practical!

I'm not Caulyne, but I can answer part of your question. The black elliptical trim is included in the "Piano Black" dash option.

The Carbon Black fabric sport seats are completely black. The middle part of the fabric has a checked pattern to it, but it's still all black. I have them in my Oxygen Blue MINI. Your friend has excellent taste in exterior colors.

I initially thought about going Gotham Grey on my OB/W when I was specing her, but Hubby was worried about cleaning. I must say for ONCE he is right!!
We will have the Anthracite Headliner, again due to cleaning and a Fluid Silver interior surface.
So my preference would be another door panel option.

The top gallery link looks to have the following interior options: gotham grey door panels, leatherette seating, and everything else standard

The bottom link looks like :gotham grey, standard cloth seats, and piano black interior trim

 

So I am guessing that when you don't opt for an upgrade to the dashboard finishes, the elliptical trim on the door panels simply matches the finish of the door panels in color and is real close in texture.

The dealer brochure has pictures of what door trim rings the various dash finishes have.

 

Does the gotham grey look cheap in any way like it can be a very pale grey GM interior? That's one fear of mine. I'm thinking of a Mellow Yellow with black bonnet stripes, black roof... to compliment it i'm not sure.. I like light interiors, but the gotham grey might not be a good fit.. gotham grey and piano black? or gotham grey and white cream white color line, or just regular black and cream white color line..? Still not sure. I think there might be too much grey on the inside.. seems a little depressing..

 

If you're going yellow/black on the outside, why not continue it on the inside w/ the yellow color line, and even the yellow/black cloth/leather seats?

 

When configuring on MINIUSA, I don't see an option for yellow/black seats..?

I know it makes sense to continue the color scheme, though I like yellow on the outside, I'm not sure if I am feeling the yellow on the inside. I'd like to keep costs to a minimum as well. After thinking some more, I would probably just leave it all stock.. heh
