Will Coolant Void Warranty

my MCS 2007 started over heating and so i bought some coolant from a gas station and poured it in. That didnt really help so I now have to have it towed away. Will adding coolant in the car void the warranty?
There were no warnings before the temperature gauge went orange and then right away red.

No, adding coolant will not void your warranty. You were just trying to cool the car off.

It shouldn't be a problem as long as it was within Mini specs and properly applied. Some coolants require dilution.

No it shouldnt effect warrenty, but after you identify the cause of the loss of original coolant and corrected it , I would drain the system and refill with coolant to factory specs.

take it to the dealer, your car is new, no reason it should overheat like that

I would also drain and replace the coolant to factory specs. I would NOT have this done at the dealership. It is your responsiblity to put the correct products in your car. However after draining and replacing the coolant it should not have caused any damage. If you still have any overheating problems, go to the dealer. There's no reason to mention the whole collant story.

What are the specs for the coolant? I looked in the owner's manual, and it says check with the Mini dealer. Where do I get the blue coolant and what do I look for? Need to pick this up today.

is the coolant actually low or is it just overheating...

If the coolant isnt low, adding more isnt going to help. Its either some faulty sensor or something seriously wrong with the engine cooling system.

Are all fluids put into our MINIs covered under the 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty? meaning if i take my MINI into the dealer to have them check all my fluids, will they fill up free of charge? except gas of course!

I bought a jug of coolant from the local BMW dealer (not a mini dealer). My mini dealer is 90 miles away, a BMW dealer 5 miles.

I asked the mini dealer about coolant, he said 'no phosphorous coolant".

I read in an old post that Zerex G05 is approved by BMW.

Some of the coolant manufacturers make formulas that are "Guaranteed for ALL makes".
