PRIMA Car Car - Wheel Shield

Anyone tried the Prima Wheel Shield? Does it make a difference on keeping the dust form sticking to the wheel?

Ive used brake dust shields before, on my truck. I noticed an improvement on reducing brake dust. The drawback is that it affects the cooling of the brakes. Ive seen different types, from solid to slotted.

Prima Wheel Shield is a wax. You will probably find lots of info on it in the Detailing 101 forum. I've used it, but can't really say whether it helped. I wasn't paying close enough attention to make a comparison.

We use it every time we remove the wheels to clean. Along with our daily upkeep of dusting with a swifter, we also use a towel dampened with Hydro to do a final wipe. Keeps the wheels white and bright

I use Prima Wheel Shield (now known as Wheel Armour) and I think it works pretty well. I never have difficulty removing the brake dust - simply rinsing will remove most of it and a light brushing takes care of the rest. Like Burble, I use Hydro as a final wipe and that seems to help as well.

I just applied it a few weeks ago. Seems to make brake dust stick a little less, but the big difference is how easy the dust comes off. I use to have to spray P21S on and still scrub with a brush hard in a few spots. This last time just a brush with soapy water. Keep in mind that if you use wheel cleaner that will strip some of all of the Wheel Armour off and you'll need to reapply.

i'm about to install dustier brake pads on my wife's car (still no where as bad as the MINI OE pads) as I think her car is unsafe after getting used to the Mini's brakes. I'll apply Wheel Armour at the same time. I wonder if she'll notice.

The other weekend I clayed and waxed the hood, roof and trunk of her car. She complimented the work the next day. I'm still trying to get to the rest of the car.

As to the other comment, I don't think I will ever understand the appeal of dark colored wheels. Most of the time you can't tell what they look like. And leaving excessive brake dust on any wheel is going to damage the finish.

I remember one Saturday this past summer, I spent about 5 hours detailing the wifes XC90, Wash, Clay, Epic, RainX and some 303 protectant. Whole process took me about 5.5 hours.

She saw the car on Sunday, and said, "oh, did you wash my car for me?"
