R56 English Oak Interior Surface
I'll be able to tell you in about 2 weeks when our Clubman is picked up. That's what we ordered and I can't wait to see how it all looks...

The dash looks great. Pretty grainy looking fake wood. I wanted the steering wheel but when I got my car they weren't available. I added Robin Casady's wood shift **** and ebrake handle. I get lots of compliments on my interior combo. (my gallery has more pix)

I have both the dash and the steering wheel. The only complaint is very minor it's very shiny so it shows all fingerprints.
I love it and am glad at the last minute decided to get both. It looks classy!

I have both the dash and steering wheel. I love the way it looks. It does show fingerprints really bad though as mentioned above but it is a small price to pay. Since I don't have children in the car, it really isn't that bad of a problem.
I considered it for my first MINI which was SS/B. Very good look and quality IMO. However I didn't like it so much for PW/B (my current combo). Went with piano black instead and am loving it. Very modern and pretty unique.
I have the wood dash and door handles, I am really pleased with it. In fact it's the first thing people comment on when they get in the car. I was supposed to have the wood wheel but leather was substituted in the early builds D/T a problem with the origional wooden wheel design. I could have gotten the retrofit but opted out, I would like the wood shift **** I didn't get that but I think it would be a nice addition. IMHO if you want a classy look your choice is wood or piano black. Both have their merits, I think that SS card do especially good with wood.
I have the english oak after I saw it in person at Mini Southbay. I really liked the piano black but you actually get some pieces of piano black so its a win win. The english oak is very rich looking. I don't think you will regret your decesion if you get the oak.
I LOVE the English oak interior. I have it with the piano black and creme color line. To me, it is exquisitely retro.
See pics in gallery. The tape in the pics comes from the tint job I had before I headed out for a 6,500 mile road trip last summer.

I love it only with the wheel and shifter option. I would probably do a Pepper white or BRG with that set-up and have the lounge leather in black to go with it. Actually Tuscan Beige with the BRG. That would be good looking.
I suspect that the English Oak is oak veneer with plastic laminate over it. I only had a 1" square sample to use to decide when I ordered and went with Piano Black. After actually seeing the English Oak, it think I would have liked it better.
Piano Black would have been good if it were a hard polished surface, like formica. However, it appears to be a fairly soft plastic (perhaps polystyrene) that scratches easily. I would guess that the plastic over all the other surfaces scratch as easily, but black shows them more. It also shows fingerprints.

Pics in my gallery, too. I love it...it is a darkish tone but you can tell it's real wood. Thing is, when the sunlight hits it all the nuances of the woodgrain come out and it seems much much lighter and rich. I have the OEM English Oak shift **** on the way since it should have been part of the package...should be in soon. All in all it is a real star feature of the interior, subtle, but classy. I've not had trouble w/ fingerprints or scratches at all.
