Dealer purchase survey

Does everyone get a dealer new car purchase survey? How long should it take after delivery? Is it by phone or mail? I would like to share my experience and I am a little concerned that after almost a month I have not received one yet.

I want to make sure I wait a reasonable time before assuming I am not getting one and writing the manufacturer directly.

I received an e-mail three days after I picked up my new MINI. The e-mail had a link to a survey website.

3 new MINIs in as many months and not a single survey request. Odd too, because our MA thought we'd already completed one survey for him. Apparently he may have received results we didn't submit? Didn't matter because we would've given him all 5s anyway (anything less is failing apparently!), but it was odd.

Yes I thought it was odd. Last thing we talked about with the MA was the "5's" and anything less would be bad for her. We would have given all 5's but never contacted. The car was picked up June 30, 2007. I guess it's not going to happen.

yeah anything less than a 5 is a fail. I got the call within the first week of ownership.

We sent in the print survey that our MA gave us at delivery within a couple of days. Got an email survey within a week of delivery (December). All 5s for our MA Mark Smith at MINI of Fairfield County. Yowsah, it couldn't have gone any better. Plus I just got my MINI adventure package in the mail yesterday... about 6 weeks after delivery. Cool! Detroit needs to take some lessons form MINI USA.

I got my email w/in a few days of delivery. You might want to check w/ your MA to make sure that all of the info they have on you is correct.

The survey is a random thing. Not every purchase generates a survey.

Yea, I didn't get a survey. Otherwise it's all 5 for Rich Tran at Herb Chambers.

I got several calls that my caller ID said were from MINI but nothing ever happened - no voice, no response. Maybe their telephone survey method is less than perfect. Too bad. I would have loved to have given MINI of St. Louis great scores. What's an "Adventure package"? Does everyone get one?

In the name of thread economy, I opened this one back up.

I got the email within a week. I waited for them to call, because I wanted to see if it was anonymous (it isn't), and I had some information I wanted to add.

The dealer also plopped a short survey in front of us at delivery. I found that a little rude, not dissimilar to a waiter or waitress standing there while you figure your tip. They also sent a little gift after purchase (a personalized photo calendar, nice) with another survey.

A question I wanted to ask was this: How many questions on your survey? Mine was only three questions: 1)Overall satisfaction with the dealership, 2) Satisfaction with the car, and 3)Describe your MINI in one word. They also asked me if there was anything I wanted to add. There was. I was just surprised that there weren't more questions, and that none of them referred specifically to the MA.

I never received a survey from MINI or anyone else, and as best I can recall this is the first new car I ever bought when I didn't receive such a survey from someone. Did receive a "thank you for buying from us" letter from sales manager (not personally signed). Did eventually receive the welcome package from MINI. Never received any follow-up call from salesman (order taker?) after delivery.

can "all 5's" be used as a bribe for extras like wheel locks and mats? I was told that the dealership (East Bay Mini) will not throw in any extras...I wonder how important the survey is to them...

Nice extortion.

I got a few phone calls after taking delivery. All within a week or two.

I got free wheel lock sand mats without even asking, and a free grocery bag holder :D

Love my Mini!
