Auto Lights and Wipers

Is this feature really worth it? I have to choose between this and sport seats for a MC, which my dad and I will hopefully be ordering before the end of the year. I like the auto lights & wipers concept, but he's always says you are going to want the sport seats. Have any problems come up with the auto l&w? Which would you rather have?
Thanks, in advance

Hmm, I have both on my MC. I'd say if you can't have both, go with the seats.

I absolutely love the seats in my MC.

I do like that I have the Auto lights/wipers. It is very convenient and "cool", but then again, your "seat" in the seat will be a constant source of comfort. Having the l&w is just a convenience.

Just my Humble 2 cents.

seats

the wipers/lights still work without the "auto" but you cant modify the regular seats for "sport" mode.

I'd say get the seats.

However one thing about the auto-wipers, at least with 2007 models, non-auto wipers don't have an adjustable intermittent speed. Just an intermittent setting with a preset time. Something else to consider.

I have both on my MCS, but the only one i really use is the Auto wipers. I keep the lights on day or night so auto lights isnt a big deal.

Thank you all , I think I am going to bite my lip and get both. I'll just make sure to keep them in mind when I make the down payment.

And my dad just said with an 60 mon, trad auto loan, the cost for both comes to a whopping $8 per month, I think I can handle that.

Yea, that was gonna be my advice. Unless your way over budget, adding a relatively inexpensive feature adds so little to your monthly payment that IMO, it's worth it to get both if you really want them. I have both on my MINI, but if I had to choose one I'd go for the seats. That said, I'm really glad I got the auto wipers/lights. Although not a deal breaker, I wouldn't want another MINI without them. Also I have an MCS so the sports seats are standard.

Congrats on your imminent purchase and keep us posted!

Can't tell you about the seats or the auto lights, but for me the auto wipers are a must! I used them today and even though we had rain varying between monsoon and sprinkle, they kept up perfectly.

I've not sat in the standard seats -- have an MCS. I don't use the auto headlights, but the auto wipers are nice. I like that they adjust to changes in rainfall so I don't have to think about it. Even so, if you like the sport seats better than the standard, you'll probably regret not getting them. That said, I'm from the school of getting it all. Lots of folks economise at the purchase than regret it later and end up spending lots more trying to get it.

My MINI does not have auto wipers or Lights and I love it...The BMW 330CIC we have has both and the Auto Lights work great but the wipers...as soon as the factory coverage expired they started acting very funky and wipe when nothing is there...they also now wipe twice when you start the car lol....

In the MINI if you have a couple of wipes before you start, along with a few other problems, it may be related to the SZL switch. Don't know if BMWs have the same situation, but it might be worth asking.
