Beware of purchasing luminics. I purchased them in january and installed them in february. last week, one of the high beams failed. i contacted luminics, they issued an rma. but stress that the warranty is 90 days from date of purchase. so im not sure if they will replace them when i send them back or not, because its over 90 days.
the main issue, i have to pay for shipping to send it back, which is fine. but on top of that, i have to send a check for $9.95 to pay for shipping of the replacements. thats ridiculous. and what if they decide not to give me replacements, then i would have just paid an extra $20 just to have the same bulbs mailed back to me. had i know this, i would have bought the piaas instead.
So from all I have read the 9008/H13 Philips extreme is the best upgrade for the 09' MCS I need the brightest possible not blue I want clear...Am I correct on this..Lifespan no biggy I need light for God sakes..
I've got the Hella Performance 2.0 H13 on my 12 Justa. They work well in terms of definitely being brighter. I've had to replace them after 7 months though but I just found out the wife has been keeping the headlights on all the time as she's used to DRLs on our other cars and she put 16K on the car in the time those bulbs were on! Still cheaper than trying to upgrade the whole light system!!!
Be careful. In trying to find something brighter I bought these and someone warned me a year later. I looked at the lenses and sure enough they were checked because the bulbs run too hot. I couldn't buff out the problem. Sylvania was also sued about their claims.
I have had no problems with Sylvania Silverstar Ultras. I did have a problem with some "brighter" and higher wattage bulbs that I thought would give more light. I think they were 85/100w. They seemed to be a bit brighter, but after a very short time, they also left burn marks on my reflectors in my halogen headlight assemblies! That was nice. They also melted my headlight connectors to the point where at times (even after re-installing the Silverstar Ultras) I had to smack my right headlight to make it come on again. Not doing that again! I have now cut my original melted connectors off, and have soldered new connectors into place. Now running Phillips Extreme Power, IIRC. Who knows? I change headlight bulbs more often than my underwear, looking for something to get close to matching my LED DRL and Fog light bulbs. Not gonna happen until I go HID kit, or LED. Have tried both. HID kit simply would not work on my 2011, the FWM freaked out big-time. LED's? Tried. Same result with FWM, and no high beams even when the lows worked for a very short time. I guess it's down to the factory Xenon upgrade for $1200.00, or the Spyder units, which I still cannot get an answer as far as if they have solid high beams, or only flash-to-pass function. Can anyone with the Spyder lights confirm that the high beams stay on in a 2011? I need high beams, as I live in the middle of nowhere, and drive twisty-turny mountain roads every day and night.
LED bulbs will not work correctly in a halogen housing, they need a projector lense. I had a pair of LED's, had to return them, the beam pattern was all over the place. The color was nice but they flickered for a few seconds when turned on, probably super annoying for on coming traffic and were not DOT legal. I went with PIAA extreme white halogen bulbs. Better than stock but they are definitely not white. Not sure if they were worth the $65 I paid but not many other options that are legal and will last more than 6 months.
