Weird Electronics

The other day, I started the car and hit the button to turn on the radio. Nothing happened. Tried several more times. Still nothing. Tried using voice command and it responded, "Function presently not available." I hit the cd button and the cd went on no problem. Hit the radio button and again nothing. Next time I started the car, all was fine. Has this happened to anyone else?

I've noticed when I first start the car or turn on the ignition, it seems to take about half a minute before the voice control button responds. Not every time but at least 1/3 of the time. That's the only weird thing I've noticed. Since it's really just a computer that handles that stuff I think some times it might just hang like most computers do once in a while.

I'd keep track of how often you notice it and bring it up at your dealer next time you're there. Can't hurt to have them check it out if it's convenient for you.

So far it only happened once. I am more scared of what my dealer may do. Something like this, they would obviously claim is related to the air pressure in my tires.

Have you checked the air pressure in your tires? I'm not saying, but could be...

I tried. But I couldn't see a damn thing through those little valve stem holes.

Could be wheel alignment too. Check to see if the little MINI logos are all lined up the same way. If not, your dealer can line them up for you. While he has the car jacked up, ask him to clean the little spot on the tire that touches the ground.

Oh Lord, forgive me for that one, and be with the starving pygmes down there in New Guinea...amen.

Dealer will probably try to sell you nitrogen to fill your tires. . . .
