PROBLEMS

Since ive bought my mini I have had non stop problems with the car, the cluch got messed up and i got it fixed then just rescentely i brought it in for the clutch making a funny sound when i pressed it down and they told me the front of the motor is done and there charging me over $8,000

As much as i love the car, i cant afford to keep paying for its problems

anybody have any problems like this?

Is this an R56? Have you run out the warranty already, or are they saying it is from abuse?

I agree with Skuzzy. Fill in the blanks, Nick. Seems that there are quite a few posts that are suspect.

Not a lot of info there, could be a lot of things. Tell us a little more, Nick.

The clutch 'making a funny noise when you push the pedal down' sounds like a throwout bearing, not the 'front of the engine'. But there is no reason to have one of those go so early unless it's defective, or abused. I'd opt for the latter since they are charging you for something that should be under warranty. so, what's the story?

Yeah... maybe we can speed this up... what kind of MINI?

Year? Model? Milage?

What doest it sound or feel like that makes you think somthing is wrong?

What SPECIFICLY is the dealer telling you about the problem?

$8000? Lotta dough!

Yeah, not to sound silly, but what could cost $8000 on a little car like this? That's almost forty percent the MSRP..

Did the car have to be towed? Did it fall off of a ferry?
Why did you take it into the dealership? Did you hit a tree?
How many miles on it? Did you drive it into a lake?
What year model is it? Did a piano get dropped on it?
How many miles are on it? Did you park it next to a building that was demolished?
Happen to have any pictures of what the dealer said is wrong with the car? Did you take it bungee jumping and the cord snapped?
Is the car completely stock?

Do I sound glib? Without any information its difficult to be concerned about the problems you say you are having. Is English your second language, by any chance?
