R56 Floor Mats
Well, the carpet mats shed (and are somewhat thin and "cheap-looking" IMO), and the rubber mats get dull spots where they wear, although structurally, they'll probably hold up forever.
I went with a set of CocoMats in my car, and love them. Even after 22,000 miles, the passenger-side and driver-side mats look identical, and I almost never have a passenger. I've never cleaned them either, except for vacuuming them once a month or so.

At how many miles? I think a little shedding at the beginning is normal. I've seen no wear at all at 14,000 miles, with the OEM MINI carpet mats.
I picked up a WeatherTech FloorLiner, which is made out of a plastic-like material, fits like a glove (they are specifically cut for whatever car model you buy it for), and offers all-weather protection. I suspect they are probably the most durable mats available. The drawbacks are that they are expensive, and they only make a set for the front of the R56.
Concur with Scott on the COCOMATS !!

Highly durable. The ones in my CR Cooper are 13 months old and they look VERY nearly as good as the ones in the JB MCSC which are only 1 month old.
I only remove them from mid-December thru the last snowfall and use the rubber mats. The cocomats could probably hold up will with the wetness and the sodium chloride crap, but I don't risk it.
Besides being durable, nothing looks better, IMO.

+1000 for CocoMats....beautiful, durable, fit perfectly, heavy (don't move), hide & trap dirt and crud until you're ready to shake them out, great customer service and stand behind their product. Expensive but worth it (to me).
I have some Coco Mats on order as well. I ordered the black with white spots which should look awesome in my PW. I have the stock MINI carpet mats in my '05 - they are ok, I guess they have held up fairly well over the years, but I always wanted Coco Mats instead.

I had been wondering how to keep winter slush off the floor, and this FloorLiner looks like just the right thing. They do offer a "row two" FloorLiner for the 07 MCS, but since nobody goes back there, I'm saving a few bucks and ordering just "row one." Thanks for the tip!

Oh, well. My 8 year old daughter is the only one who is ever back there, which is very seldom.
I ordered them from the Canadian distributor, but they offer them direct as well ($149.90 for the complete set, or $99.95 for just the front):

Well, my Floorliners arrived today. They do, indeed, fit the footwell very precisely, and they have a high enough lip to catch snowmelt and keep it off the carpet. I am disappointed with their weight, though. The MINI rubber mats supplied by my dealer without charge are made of thicker, more flexible material, and the containment lip is probably adequate. I've yet to see how well the Floorliners stay in place and how well they last.
I will try to take one for you tomorrow afternoon.

Congrats on your imminent delivery, it's gonna be a beauty!

And don't they smell great, too? I love mine.
